Yeah that's exactly it, you only get denuvo if you paid for the game.

The issue is that they never said it was going to have denuvo and anyone who preordered couldn't return it because 14 days had already passed when the game finally came out.

Opening cutscene has quick time events every 15 minutes that, if failed, will restart the cutscene.

item durability, no repair options. There's several unique weapons along the game.

I like both for completely different reasons. They're both open world and that's where the similarities end. Horizon has a bigger focus on combat and Zelda has a bigger focus on exploration and physics. Anyone who tries to argue one over the other is just a poorfag who only owns one system.
