There are currently only 4.5 mil ps4 in japan so we can out rule it selling 2 mil in japan unless all half of the people who own a ps4 play monster hunter it only has like 1 or 2 ps4 titles over 1 mil. So assuming that it will hit over 1 mil then the rest of the world has to shill about 2 mil or more not counting PC sales since capcom can't release anything on pc while focusing on consoles as well apparently.
Monster hunter Z for ps4 has no recorded sales chart that i can find so will assume it will be 25-50% of it's youtube views as sales averaging somewhere between 300k-600k sales.If we take this into consideration we can say monster hunter world will sell 750k in japan leaving the otherside of the world to sell 2 mil in order to make it at least 3 mil by average. Capcom estimates would probably be that it reaches at least 2.5 mil as expectation on launch so anything bellow 2.5 mil is a failure at least to a normal being capcom being capcom we can expect higher or if it reaches even 2 mil just western to be satifisfying.
Likelihood low since Monster cafes exist and you can't bring your ps4 with to a cafe since it doesn't have a monitor to hook it up and internet acess.
Monster Hunter World will not meet sales expectation of 2 mil unless capcom manages a good marketing campaign before it's release date.

Why is every fucking hipster-ass indie nowadays a fucking Metroidvania?
Don't get me wrong; Metroidvanias are cool as shit, but you can't just fucking slap nonlinearity and RPG elements onto everything. This genre has been memefied and it makes me mad.

Most of them aren't Metrovania. Most of them are 2D Action/Platformers closer to Zelda 2. For example, Shantae is not a metrovania. Yes its 2D and yes you have some free roaming. But it still has linear story events and lacks other aspects that a Metroid game has.

I hate when people say: "it's a movie" or "cinematic experience".
A game is a game and that's it. It may have a "movie style" but it's still a game.
The real problem is the overuse of these words. Even the Spider-man gameplay was called a cinematic experience. Where? It was a full gameplay with some QTEs, that's it. Let's just stop with these buzzwords.

David Cage games really are movies. You walk around and interact with a few things but it's just scenes with QTEs for the most part. There's no real combat or anything like that.
