ITT: The entire vidya industry crashed and burned a decade ago. Every single developer, publisher and producer declared bankruptcy. The indie market was completely abandoned.
Nobody has produced a single new video games for 10 years. The entire consumer market and fanbase has been forced to fast.
A small group of people who remember the golden age arise from the ashes.
These men remember the time before the for-profit business model, focus-group appeal and demographic pandering with public beta releases, day 1 patches and on-disc dlc.
These men intend to resurrect the vidya industry and return it to its former glory.
However, before they do so they decide to draft a Charter, a Code by which anybody who ever wishes to make a video game will have to abide by to ensure that the mistakes of the past will never be repeated.
You are one of these individuals /v/
What stipulations do you add to The New Vidya Charter?
Prohibit Early Access games
Prohibit microtransactions
All content to be unlockable in-game

Several year lurker just lost a parent due to an illness. I'm off UNI and have paid bereavement leave from work. I have 3 weeks to escape.
Can you lovely humans recommend decent RPG'S? I'm gonna remain pc and perhaps pop a n64 emulator on here but anything amazing that would get me lost... Yeah I've heard of zelda and the elders scrolls, so maybe not those... Overplayed including morrowind.
The last decent RPG I played was the original witcher... Was amazing but it's too soon.
Any recommendations guys would be fantastic. Need to lose reality big time. Even thinking about popping deusex back on.
Cheers for reading and offering any recommendations.

I think its kinda retarded that people who defend Physical copies of a game use the If Steam ever shuts down you lose all your games argument.
You do realize that in the far future when this may or may not happens.
All the games on steam can simply be downloaded like we download rooms right now.
And physical media is literally that Physical.
Its under the effects of moisture temperature force radiation.
It can get damaged and it can be lost.
And if it does get damaged you lost the game forever unless you buy copies.
I have 20 year old Discs that still work fine today.
But then again i have some that no longer work because one file of the installation is damaged.
Digital copies last as long as you have the files on your PC and as long as the service that provides them stays in business (steam does have offline mode so if you have the files of a game on your system and stem goes down you can still play the game).
>typos
>reddit spacing
>own physical games
>disc somehow damages

A small group of indie devs made a game with 18 QUINTILLION WORLDS, the most content in ANY game, and /V/ still finds a way to hate it.

I am going to make a game with infinity grains of sand.
I don't know how I will fit all that sand data onto a disk, but once I do, it will have endless content. No more will you have to look to other games, you can just play sandgame forever.
