It was also a game where they did well with the sequels. All of them aside from ascension were better than the first one though I didn't play the handhelds, so those I can't comment on.

The combat in GoW is shit, your attacks have no impact and deal very little damage, it feels like you're hitting the enemies with feathers.

The thing I really liked about the first game (I haven't played the others yet) was the sense of being on an epic quest, reinforced by the huge scale of the environments and the great atmospheric soundtrack.

Real talk the game is pretty bad. It had some potential in the beta days but they fucked it up so hard. It's best watched, not played.

It's fucking great. It's gorgeous and fun with excellent characters and storytelling and tons of shit to do and explore. The combat leaves a bit to be desired but start at a higher difficulty and it'll be somewhat better. Its a little bit different, blackwake is combat focus, and sea of thieves is more exploring based and your friends and npc and stuff.
