I played the PS1 versions very recently, for the first time in at least ten years and goddamn these games are shitty. Each take like 3 hours to beat and offer absolutely no challenge apart from some levels in the first one.

It feels good to see a dev get what they deserve. Relic's betrayal made the Horus Heresy look like fucking child's play.

I'm not sure whether you trust Steam reviews, but there are a lot of garbage games on Steam with "positive" or "mostly positive" scores, so if something is "mixed" or "negative" then you know it must be deeply flawed if not outright bad.
From what I've heard, the game runs like shit. As for the gameplay, I won't comment, because I simply hate the genre.

I spent about four months playing it straight on PC with a reasonable community on the server.
It's a game that takes A LOT of your time, as tame times can take from a few minutes for a Dodo, to an hour for a low level Pteranodon and then up to 10 hours for high level dinos.
There's also raising baby dinos which takes days. I raised a baby Quetzalcoatlus from an egg, I had to make sure it had food for 24 hours.
