I motherfucking loved them and bought them at full price. Easily the best "gamebook RPGs" I've ever played, and I've played a lot. Can't recommend them highly enough, especially if they're on sale.

Additional PSA: it's not very good at all. It looks like shit, the level design is bland and arbitrary, the story is a joke, and the combat mechanics are clunky and unintuitive. Oh, and the soundtrack sucks. There are far better Metroidvania out there. Games like Environmental Station Alpha, Axiom Verge, or Hollow Knight, to name a few. Don't let weebs trick you into buying crap games like this.
