For a series that's been shitting the bed with every release after the original Driver it's surprisingly great.

Despite having literally the most retarded premise for an open world driving game ever it actually works amazingly, the driving is tight without being overly arcadey or autistically realistic, single player campaign is fun and MP is a blast.

...hell it even has a level which is a throwback to the carpark tutorial in the original Driver.

What the fuck is the deal with Masaru Sera? I don't get how he first wanted to steal Makoto from me and somehow kill me but then he became all buddy buddy and supportive of Majima's obsession with saving her.

Speaking of Majima, I don't get why he wants to save her so much. Maybe I missed something but doesn't he want back in the Shimano family? And at the same time, why does he want to save Makoto? He doesn't even seem conflicted at all by these conflicting goals.
