Myst is way harder, though. It's just the fact that most people who play metroidvanias and 2D action/platformers never have to put the amount of effort into actually thinking and solving puzzles.
Face it, it's basically Legend of Zelda x Castlevania if Zelda didn't have the easiest puzzles in the world so nobody would complain
Bad graphics in a modern game is usually a green flag
Creating super realistic Horizon or Battlefront tier graphics costs insane amounts of money and development time and most of the time the game has to focus all its development and money on the graphics which results in garbage gameplay.
This is what kills the video game industry because the devs spend all their money and workforce on creating realistic graphics but then put the gameplay to the side, but normies will still buy it because normies only care about super realistic graphics. It's easier to make a shit game with good graphics than a great game with shit graphics.
But a shit game with good graphics will always sell and make profit from normies who buy any garbage with good graphics.
And after the studio has invested fuckton of money into the graphics, they also need fuckton of sales to gain any profit from the game and not go negative.
So what do they do to make sure they get enough sales? They dumb the game down, make it easy and casual, accessible for every normie who only plays video games for 2 hours on a Sunday on his console. Easier and more casual game = more sales. If they created a hardcore Morrowind or Gothic like game then it would only make profit from the hardcore old school gamers, which is a small minority in the game industry populated by normies.
Even one of the devs of The Witcher 3 admitted they dumbed down the game so that it sells more in the West.
This is exactly the reason why old games are better, because the main focus was on gameplay, and the graphics didn't matter at all.
That's also why indie games have shit graphics, because creating amazing graphics today is ridiculously expensive and only big studios can afford it. But that's also why indie games usually are known to have better gameplay than the AAA games.
TL;DR: graphics ruined video game industry

For me it would have to be APB Reloaded, yes i know its kinda shitty, but the customization system really draws me in, plus it seems kinda ok, like a diet GTA Online in some ways.

Anyone playing this now that it's "re-released"?
What do you think of the changes? What class did you chose and do you like it?
I never really left Solomon Island when I played this game last summer, made a new character now to play all the rest, didn't have many of the newer issues back then.
I picked Gunslinger this time, mainly because of the outfit. Feels way too slow for my taste but I guess that's more the game not the class. Also I don't get the reloading minigame at all.

They literally did nothing, the game still runs like absolute shit, looks exactly the same, and the combat, you know, I was expecting it will be something like Vindictus, but they literally just added a regular skill that you already had in a game before, to a mouse button. Obviously they don't plan to add this feature because he said his priority is not target 60fps anymore it's to balance with visual quality
Koei is the only developer that gave the option to lower the resolution and every other developer should have followed it.
They are delaying to add motion blur and other garbage to mask unlocked 34~45fps

That said we'll never see Ace Combat 8, not in 10 or 20 or 30 years. This will sell bad on PS4 and Xbox One and the VR will be a waste of millions of dollars.
