I remember playing this one fishing game on my windows 98 PC, years ago. It looked and played almost like Trophy Bass(pic related), but it was a more kiddie version that had a cartoon bear that would talk to you. I think it was part of the 3-D Ultra series, but I can't find any info about it.

I'm going to go ahead and say right now, the core gameplay benefits more from having Items than not having them at all.
When a health or meter build juice drops, no ones playing the long-n-scared game anymore.
So many strategies involving simply NOT going to try and get more health or meter, because you now have the perfect read on where they want to be next and can get a free grab or super.
