Because of laws and there aren't that many people in game dev. Japs have retarded laws making it impossible to even start up a Jap dev team but they're just fine with being able to buy up and run companies like Crystal Dynamics, IO, and all of Eidos into the ground.

It's my favorite game of all time

The world is easily the best part. It has tons of variety and effort put into it. I think combat and character progression are weak points. Give it Platinum-tier combat and some kind of exp/leveling system and I think nothing would ever top it

Played a little bit of the first one but not a ton, so I can't really say, but 2 and Off the Record are fucking great, my only problem with them on psn is that DR2 doesn't come with its dlc. But yeah just save up for 2 or Off the Record.

1 is awesome, 2 and otr are really good too. 3 is where it all went to shit. 4 is weapons grade dog shit that should be avoided at all costs.

Well, young Kratos was a big fan of child murder until a wacky misunderstanding got him to kill his own daughter, which in turn led to his rampage that nearly destroyed the whole world while he tried to convince everyone that it was everyone's fault but his. So, the bar isn't very high on being a better parent than young Kratos. As long as old Kratos doesn't murder his child, he's gold.
