Don't really have a beef per see, but they're movies more than games. There's repetitive platforming and cover shooting that only serves to bring you to the next cutscene, full of smug and quippy dialogue right out of an 80s sitcom. Characters survive everything short of an RPG to the face. There is absolutely no sense of danger for any important character. At one point you destroy about 79 vehicles that are chasing you, it feels more space invaders than adventure. And the same plot is repeated in every single installment

I don't, I enjoy them, but I don't think any of them are above a 7/10

4U is the most polished "core" experience with a slightly more fleshed out village mode with cool cutscenes

Gen is newer and has more diversity in playstyle as well as some QoL changes, but it's a bit more casual in village and adept style teaches bad habits.

You can wait for world but it's not a very good representation of the series from the footage we have now.

Monstrous input delay with keyboard/gamepad. Didn't have these problems with Hollow Knight or Dead Cells - which have infinitely tighter controls, btw.

I'm yet to find one that would feel really satisfying.

I'd say Factorio is a base-building-heavy game that get's closest to what I find good. Mostly because it actually forces you to play around with functionality rather than just being a crappy overglorified piece of Lego.
That said, I had not played games like Rimword yet.

You should not be playing Dark Souls with a mouse and keyboard; it's one of the few games that's the case for. Your movement angles need to be more precise than one of eight directions sometimes, especially when you're locked onto an enemy
