So now that Vicarious Visions have shown it's possible for a new studio to remake a game. Do you think Activision will pick someone good to do Spyro? Perhaps Vicarious Visions would be interested in doing it as well?
Insomniac is busy with Spiderman. Sony doesn't own the IP. And Activision is the owner of both Spyro and Crash. Now that crash has been so successful I think the shareholders have probably realized that Nintendo aren't the ONLY people capable of making positive, creative, nostalgic platformers. The money is there, and I think it'd be even easier to convince Activision to let Sony use the IP now that they've seen that it can make money.
I'm really hoping for a Spyro remake. I love crash, but Spyro is really special for me. The music, the back drops, the colors, the creativity. I fucking love the original 3 Spyros, and as cool as it was to see crash get updated graphics, I think spyro is truly one of the most beautiful games I've played.
Anyways, spyro thread. Opinions on if it'll get a remaster, who will make it, if it'll be successful etc. Or just talk about Spyro. Currently playing through the first one again, personally.

Was just playing the first one last night with that item randomizer mod. I can see more clearly that it had the most exciting exploration out of the series, while 3 feels like a boss-rush with some interesting stretches in between (I still really like parts of 3).
I wouldn't mind a DS4 or DS5 if they shifted the focus back to aimlessly exploring a winding, dangerous world.

Level seems solid in terms of layout, but a bit buggy. The only major complaint I have is that you could have used a mid-level checkpoint.
The two major bugs I found were that if you walk to the right past the ladder in the big eye room, you enter a blue void, fall several screens, and then die. The 2nd bug is that if you slide into the boss room you land on the spikes and die as soon as the fight starts. This one can be solved by not having the door at the same height as the rest of the ground
