The thing that hits me so close to home in the case of FF7 is that Cloud faked being cool and confident and played it off well enough to convince and influence others. Meanwhile he is more fucked up and the least self consious than anyone else. All because he lied so well that he began to believe the lies himself.

I do this all the time. I always do this when I meet new people to make myself seem more interesting than I believe myself to be. I get lost in my own bullshit and get called out on it. Then I am forced to admit I'm a 29 year old celebate who spends all his time playing vidya and browsing this god forsaken place. I want to have friends again /v/, but I can't stop fucking myself over. Just like Cloud.

Satisfying combat. Difficult enough that you have to constantly be getting better at the game.

The first third of the game is pretty great. Nice level design.

I do agree they should have doubled down on a party fighter approach. I like the idea of the party rooms a lot, but the game is kind of stale as a straight up fighter because it's too slow and the defensive options are too strong.

4 player free for alls on larger stages with goofy shit, so that the game played casually felt like a boxing version of Super Smash Bros, and it could have been good.
