There are 2 types of jrpg
Both have you discover more and more of a vast and beautiful world as you bond with your party and form a social network of connectiosn around the planet
But they hand the last third of the story differently
one:
>Everything that was built and discovered crumbles. Cities are destroyed, beloved characters die, the world starts feeling empty
One
>Begins to feel cozier and cozier and as you visit each place one las ttime to do sidequests and shit you get a warm nostalgia from remembering when you first arrived
I can't handle the first
just fucking can't

Uhhhh...
>encounter enemy player/npc
>instead of just being powerful, they have some sort of bullshit ability you have to learn to counter
Why don't more games do this?
Especially RPGs and PvP games.
Minmaxing in PvP isn't a bad thing in terms of fun gameplay, it's actually kinda fun ending up in a fight where some player has a really wacky playstyle granting them extreme speed, health, or DPS.
Counterplay doesn't exist in multiplayer games.
I did something similar in Chivalry: Medieval Warfare.
Instead of the acrobatic reverse upswing rainbow 780 noscope bullshit the "pros" used I just fought normally but erratically. Worked wonderfully.
Because then it becomes like a rock, paper, scissors match.

Why does no one ever talk about this game? It's literally the pinnacle of Musou style games.
>peons can actually pose a threat if you let your guard down/don't watch your surroundings, rather than just standing there and attacking once an hour
>killing them actually has a purpose and gives you resources to power up/heal/use special abilities, rather than just adding a pointless number
>constantly unlocking new abilities which keeps the gameplay interesting rather than just mashing two buttons mindlessly
>stages are small but finely crafted and unique, rather than being large, ugly, samey battlefields
>movement is fun, flows into the combat seamlessly and is three-dimensional, rather than just having the option of running or riding a horse
>no bare bones "strategy" elements. The only strategy you use is how you handle combat and which stages to do first, which is vastly superior
>interesting story and world, rather than the same Chinese/Japanese history lesson for the Xth time or poorly done story of whatever property (One Piece, Berserk, etc) the game is for which someone playing the game would already know
>can actually be challenging on higher difficulties, rather than just turning into "lol I 1shot u now :^)"
The only real complaint you can bring up about it is the lack of content (if you ignore it was a $20 game), which Rebirth and Fallen have fixed. And you can't complain about Jew tactics since no one bought Rebirth as it was on the Vita and Fallen is only $30.
With DW having fallen for the open world meme, it will undoubtedly remain the best Musou style game for the foreseeable future.
We did talk about it, 5 years ago.

I fucking loved Malicious, but it wasn't a musuo.
There were the tons of peons, but they were never the main focus, just existing mainly for resources. No base capturing, no anything else musuo-like other than the lots of random dudes on the map, and that was really only because you due to you breaking into military installations or royal palaces and killing everyone.
The game was a boss rush and a fucking grand one at that.
The game did a lot of things well, but it also damned itself.
The backstory was pretty interesting, but it was all in the little text stories you had to read on your own, instead of being weaved into the game. This meant that most people would have ignored them and not known why killing those people or the fact that you were effecitvely a debt collector.
The FPS was very spotty, at least on the original PS3 release, dunno about the others.
The camera could be ass at times. Real ass.
That and very little content meant that if you didn't appreciate it on a purely gameplay standpoint (which if you can ignore the camera+fps issues was fucking fantastic) then you would feel gypped.
I love the game, it was pure gameplay with extremely satisfying bosses and some real good stages (fighting the cannon+airship man on the flying cannon base was real cool.) The make-your-own difficulty via boss selection was pretty neat, even though I got hella booty blasted my first playthrough when I chose the queen last. That was a big mistake.
That and the damage system was cool, having your limbs blown off like that, also meant that you basically knew how much you could take since you weren't out of the fight til everything was gone.
Also what is this about malicious fallen?
Another version of the game with more content for the ps4?
Is this more bosses and stages and such, or does it also have some QoL improvements to fix the framerate and other problems that the original and rebirth suffered from?
It could've been Type-Moon characters.
It could've been Black Rock Shooter.
It could've been Skull Girls.
But no. It just has to be this RWBY shit.
Next year is gonna be great!
Is he the best written fantasy MMO villain?
The worst
We can all admit this was good right?
