aside of slow pacing and bad designs, I'm concerned that you can't seem to change your outfit (characters leveled up already in gamescom video, but look the same). Yeah, there is accessory shop but what if it doesn't change visuals?
Also I'm not sold as having additional character as weapon.

Feel the same about the outfit. Hopefully they will have something since taking out that after 1 and X seems weird. Characters as weapons seem fine just want a bit more info on that. Zelda didn't have it for a while until they were force to give it and FE Warriors is coming out with it. So if they don't give it at launch I feel they will put it in later which is dumb. As for giant robots it's going to have something with it since it is a Xeno game.

Character for weapons really make game a bit to constrained in choice of weapons and equipment I think
Zelda is only one precedent of dual audio being patched, I'm not that optimistic about that sadly.

To sort of go with your point OP, I honestly think gaming would a a lot better if we had more main characters like Kratos. Oh, he was definitely edgy and all those buzzwords but you know what? I rather take that then all this "beta loser bland 'kind hearted' MC" shit that games constantly love to do. Call Kratos edgy and an edgelord but at least he's interesting.

He was the administrator of Black Mesa a company which opened the portal for Vortigaunts and headcrabs and shit to jump into our reality. So I guees thats how Combines found us anyway.

It's some translated interviews with the people who made Alien Swarm. You will get some appreciation for what they tried to do. This game is very much incomplete, based on what is said. So there are a lot of plot point that need addressing.

Unpopular Opinion here, Mario 2 is the last game I stopped midway through.
The fact that he goes on a rocket ship is too fantastical. I can't stand that in Mario games.
