The story mode in brawl is pretty fun and interesting in comparison to the other smash games and their "campaign modes". I enjoy playing smash bros competitively though and brawl is the worst for this. If you want to play competitive, melee is the way to go. Or if you want a more competitive smash bros brawl, look into the mod Project M. It really changes up the game and makes it more fun on a competitive level. I've never played smash for Wii U but i have heard that it is also fun.

Without the experience of playing with friends on the couch much of the appeal of Smash is going to be lost on you. If you get that opportunity, play anything BUT Brawl. 64, Melee, and Smash 4 are all respectable choices and all good for different reasons.

Well if you take the rpg a system from pokemon and final fantasy and made it more complex and added dating sims and tied them in a package that one one playstyle compliments each other and then polished it for 3 extra years you would get this game.

I'd imagine it's because they (visually) date themselves less severely as time goes on.

Most moba/mutiplayer-focused fps devs aim for a 5-10 year lifespan and this pixar(?) design helps to make it, at least, presentable compared to its newer competitors.

Yea I hate the aesthetic as well, it looks like BattleBorn/Wildstar dogshit with no charm.
