Jesus fucking christ, this is much worse than I thought it would be. It barely lets me play and mostly shows cutscenes interspersed with battles (which don't seem losable anyway), but for that I was ready. But the "story" it focuses on is something special. There's bad writing, but then there's this sort of non-writing. What the fuck is this shit? Are writers 13? This is fanfiction. Nothing the characters do is ever motivated and nothing has consequences either. Jesus christ, some random shit is happening in a vacuum. A painful cliche appears, goes nowhere and is immediately forgotten. Characters do stupid shit out of the blue with no consequences. This is a dream-like experience. FFIX or VII were no literary or cinematic masterpieces, but they were nothing like that.

No, there's definitely going to be another version. However, whether it's going to be a standalone release or a DLC over Revelator is unknown. It was safe to buy Revelator considering Rev2 was a cheaper add on DLC over it.

Because they specifically included a top-down, pause-based view that allows you to give orders to each of your party members for when you need full control of your party. It's made worse by the lack of a set tactics system like Origins, true, but there are barely any times you need to micromange your party anyway. In my experience the AI can handle support roles like tanks and mages fine.
