Just finished FFIX.
Are all Final Fantasy games so lacking in optional content? There's nothing to do other than three fetch quests. You can't even return to half of the locations because they get destroyed as the story happens.
All the rewards you get are combat equipment, nothing original
And is the story progression always the same? As in starts out interesting then it turns into a "saving the world" story? with "plot twist" out of nowhere that happens to the main character along the way?
