Because it has a simple, easy to use moveset, and benefits from STR and SKL more than any other weapon in the game. Sure, I much prefer using the threaded cane, but even then I can have that in my other slot just in case

They're worth it if you like JRPGs or puzzle games. The console totally blows for action games.

Why does it matter? You have 6 years of games to play on that thing.

There is still plenty of games being developed for it, including a new Pokemon, so it's safe to say it's not going anywhere right now.

Besides, the 3DS has a large library of quality games already; even if no new games came out for it, you can still get at least a years worth of gaming out of it.

I spent an entire painful day modding this and only got about three days of play before I got incredibly bored. It's just endless gofer quests and the stuff like owning a house or "adoption" is just tacked on and adds nothing besides a desire to gather useless clutter.
