partners are just random abstract things

no towns other than the hub world

hub world is mediocre compared to toad town/rogueport

levels are kinda boring even if the plot is okay

coins and items feel a lot more useless, less gratifying than badges/starpieces

battles aren't as fun

basically, it's a big step down from TYD in everything except the plot twist, but at least it's still worlds better than sticker shit

Game is long, like annoyingly long. Levels get super gimmicky to the point of being tedious. Otherwise it's a neat concept

I highly recommend Bioforge. Why /v/ never talks about it is beyond me. Although I should warn you, the game ends with a cliffhangar that continues on the sequel, but it was never made. The only thing that was released is the intro and an arena minigame.
