I recently replayed Diamond and had the same problem. Despite fighting most wild encounters I ended up at the Elite 4 with a team mostly consisting of 45-50 pokemon and got my shit pushed in by the fire dude's level 57 Magmortar. He rinsed my level 47 water pokemon and proceeded to stomp the rest of my team due to sheer level advantage, and the wild pokemon on victory road were too low-level to grind on quickly so I just stopped playing.

I bought it and tried it out, I'd say it's worth it for the price of the game but overall it doesn't sit right with me
The entire game feels unpolished, the unique mechanics are good in theory but frustrate me more than make me want to play. I'm usually fighting with the bad collision and last time I played there was a bad glitch that made switching weapons very difficult
Either you invest time into playing the game and learning the community or you get sniped/blown up for not knowing the correct places to take cover
It does feel like an actual war game, I'd say it's better than any other 'realistic' war experience I've had. But realism doesn't equate to fun, and in the end the way to win is to exploit boring strategies and play cautiously. Knowing the map is also a gamewinner since it's impossible to tell which cover is safe until you or a teammate gets shot, and that just takes experience.
People on the mic are complete cringe, usually making the same Vietnamese stereotypes over the mic ad nautisticseum
It's fun to do some flanking maneuvers with the team or get a string of kills when you find a perfect sniping spot int he brush, but after about ten hours it becomes more of a pain to play especially since all the gun types feel different but all the guns within those types feel exactly the same...

Overall I like it a lot more than RO2 mostly thanks to the supremacy gamemode.

CoC is overrated, boring trash anyway, going against all the design choices and meta that made STALKER so good in the first place.
There's also way better sandbox mods, like The Faction War 3.x for Clear Sky.
