Prime example of when you have great core gameplay, it can carry through the flaws.

They didn't have a great concept of how to structure an open world, but made a point of having fantastic combat, mechanics and style. Open world games tend to go for inch deep and mile wide designs, whereas this did the opposite and it worked strikingly well. Hopefully future games in the genre recognize the importance of having all facets being engaging and mechanically sound and stop neglecting combat as a result of DD.

I'd honestly expect Kiwami 2 at the very least. A side game would be awesome though, give them more time to fix up 6's problems and let them experiment with some other concepts through entirely different characters. Plus, they could easily turn that side game into a mainline if they felt like it.
