Part 2 was painfully designed around """"stealth"""", the ending was meh, and the retcon was shoe-horned.

I enjoyed the stealth because I loathe Part 1/main game gunplay. Story, yeah it was just as bad and I wish they stopped saying CONSTANTS AND VARIABLES like it actually explained things. Good thing about the ending is that it killed the series before Levine could do any more damage, if that is even possible.
Which retcon?
B2 MP was eventually Electro Bolt + Elephant/Crossbow but it was still fun as hell. Shame it was DOA.

Let's talk a little about Yu Suzuki and what he's been up to since the Kickstarter ended.
Now you guys may not be aware of this, but Yu Suzuki was involved with the development of Toonobu's Itagaki trainwreck of a project, Devil's Third. And the same sort of issues are starting to plague Shenmue III behind the scenes.

Yu rejected Sony's offer to pay for the game in order to ensure it gets a multiplat release on Xbox and PC. This is why Sony isn't being mentioned in recent interviews and why Deep Silver is publishing instead.
>Budget issues
For those of you who don't know Shenmue, Suzuki is once again having developers work on super autistic shit that does not matter. For example, fish in a pond will move around, eat each other, breed, and have an entire ecosystem that you would never even notice.
>The game itself is not even being worked on
Two years later, and the developers still have no concrete plans on what to do with the combat and general game design. They have an idea of how cinematics will work, but they haven't the budget or time to make this ambitions a reality.

Tip for anybody thinking about playing this. Makes your character really good at two or three things and stick to them. Seems obvious in hindsight.

I played it and dropped it quickly. An old school RPG like this can work only with decent writing, something that Undertail lacks. MinMaxing stats is all there is to the game, period.
If you really want to play a decent RPG there are better options out there.
