Nothing much, honestly. If you're playing something like Gold or Silver where you can get him early game, he's got no presence since his only attack is Night Shade, a Ghost move, against mainly Normal types. It also does fixed damage of the level of the user, so it's not very high.

If you manage to get him to Haunter, he's decent midgame since he has really good speed and special attack, and he's a decent substitute to Kadabra since Abra is usually fairly rare while Gastly is much more common.
But, in the Pre-Gen 4 games, evolving him is near impossible now, and was difficult then.

What the other publishers can learn from this is that you can make a weird game with the same graphics as all the other "survival" games or I don't know what and be succesful.

There is nothing to learn as its impossible to predict what meme game will get popular next.

Maybe that's because Quake Champions was only "released" a week ago at most. And even then, it's still technically in beta.

Looks cool, and tempted to get it, but may give it a couple of weeks to see what others think of it.

Unreal Tournament is not coming out in any real way for a long time. QC is fine and there's not really any reason not to give it a shot.
