Same happens with every other character you romance in ME1. Liar of the Shadow Broker gives you some romance but... Not everyone can buy it. Some regions are blocked.
ME3 is gold though. And Liara is the best.

Bioware romances are shit in general, but they get slightly better and ramp up more throughout the series with ME3 having the most romantic content. If you romanced Liara in ME1 you won't see her for most of ME2 and her character seems completely different (and better), but you can cheat on her if you're bored which can cause some delicious angst in The Lair of The Shadow Broker DLC and ME3. Speaking of TLoTSB, if you're romancing Liara you have to play it. It's very worth it.

Just to let you know about other /u/ LIs in the trilogy: ME2 has Kelly Chambers, but she's completely irrelevant and her main use is to feed your fish so who cares, and ME3 has Traynor who is good but she's only in ME3 and as a non-squadmate she doesn't have as much content as other LIs iirc.

Basically if you don't like Liara you have to wait until ME3 for a lesbian LI, unless you're willing to fuck Kelly just because you could.

You're fucked up if you live in Czech, Poland or Hungary and are a console gamer though. This DLC is blocked there and EA refuses to unblock it for those who owns english version of the game. It was not a problem to buy it with MS Points on xbox years ago, it's impossible now.

The shift from ME1 Liara to the ME2 one is really jarring and while the Shadowbroker dlc does help to bridge it, it comes late to undo the jarr. The start of ME2 is so weird that I can't help but think that there should have been a whole expansion of Shep dying and Liara&DOGGO retrieving her body to finish off ME1. This would've made the first act of ME2 more coherent and given context to Liara's attitude.

The best Shep-angst I came across was in a piece about the clone of Shep angsting over being a clone of Shep and being pushed to being Shep and not being allowed to be their own person. I wouldn't call the piece itself actually good - the plot wanders and meanders almost aimlessly and then suddenly lurches towards an unnecessary direction just to manoeuvre the characters to a place where the author wants them to be for dumb reasons, but the relationships formed a delicious hypercube of love and pain and angst and cute and hurt and hope and despair and n The character interactions were the good part and only if you value angsty-stuff.

From everything I've heard, that's just some rumor. There are left over voice lines in me2 that indicate that at some point in development Jack, Miranda and Tali were romancable by femshep, but I don't think anyone but the team knows exactly why all that was cut.

after some patches it's great... the story is amazing, bioware always had problem with faces die to standard procedure of producting them instead of using at least motion picture. they'll need to step up with this soon though because mova is storming gaming market right now (procedure used to create facial movements of Lara Croft in Rise of the Tomb Riader and newest Batman).

Nothing will ever compare to ME3 ending. Even with the extended cut it sucks. And it's not like the Trilogy had no bugs or animation failures because it did. Creepy smiles, whites of the eyes, weird hands, disappearing NPCs, enemies and team members, buggy missons (to these days some missions can bug on you and you must load the game to end the mission, sometimes even a few times). People easy forgot about all of it because expectations for Andromeda were too high. Did they screw up? Yes. But did they failed? No. At least not in my opinion. Game has amazing graphics overal, superb cutscenes of battles, great humour, realistic problems and the only thing I can shit on it is that Cora is not bi. After so many years of begging bioware to give us a female human team member love interest we've got no such thing. I bought it, I played it. I'm doing my re-run of Trilogy right now and will play Andromeda once again afterwards. And I know from experience that people who shit on this game are usually those who didn't even play demo version.

I loved ME3 humor the most from all Trilogy games. MEA is really funny right from the beginning. It would be a waste to not continue this story. It would great if they'd do remake of Trilogy, change those stupid endings (like seriously, Saren wanted synthesis, Illusive Man wanted control, both were indoctrinated so the reapers wanted such endings; meaning- the only true ending is Destroy since Anderson, who was not indoctrinated, wanted it) endings into the one where Shepard lives (bc why the hell would you kill such a hero? She/he deserves to live, and with those implants much longer than other humans, be happy, have those blue children etc!) and connect MET ending with MEA story since both stories are already strongly connected.

Battle of Meridian is one of the best battles in ME history. This is also the kind of ending ME3 deserved. It's not here but the hero walks away with her/his love. Alive, happy and ready for more.
