No, it was published until 2013

Friendly reminder that the same mangaka did Flower Flower and some horsegirl yuri series that I don't think even had enough chapters to get a tank and that originality is apparently frowned upon in yuri.

Last I checked she was doing some manga with Hatsune Miku in it.

After reading all the manga that was available in english I was so disappointed with the anime being so fucking pandering to the lolicon, they threw almost every good bit through the window just to have more Haruka gropping the girls, or put in more panty shots.
Does anyone knows if Mika confesses to Kana by the end though?

Agree 100%. The series was so good but Haruka was a blight on it.
I really want to know what happened with Mika and Kana too. Their relationship was definitely building up over the course of the series.

The muh parents are dead plot device felt superfluous. I would rather have simplified it to Kana, upon entering middle school, goes to live with her aunt/cousin Haruka whom she hasn't met the last ten years. Simply because Haruka lives 2-3 hours closer to the school. She can't go back because her parents don't believe her.

The anime is an unusual one in that they actually added/increased censoring to the DVDs.

Iirc the tv version had some pictures covering naughty bits during naked scenes. Then in the dvd they removed them but added plenty of steam, which basically ended up covering more than the original censorship.
Maybe they hoped to show some nipples in the dvds but they were turned down at the last moment? Or maybe they were just trolling.

At least the dvds gave us the fairly long Yume/Yuuki naked groping scene, which is far more explicit than any scene of the manga.

Apparently there were some conflicts with the television and the studio, also it was not selling well and someone thought that raising censorship was the right way to treat buyers.
In addition there was a possibility of an OVA, but they surrendered and made a piss x siss instead.
