>a well drawn yuri doujin about Diana and Akko
>>2396475

>>2396518
It's getting sold on Toranoana and a guy in /a/ is buying it and translating it.

Glorious.

Fantastic
Who Ursula/Akko here?
Fuck the haters
>>2396666
Fucking kill yourself, desu.
>>2396673
Get out of here tumblr, 4chan doesn't have to conform to your views about relationships. For fucks sake there's like two rape threads right now.

Lurk more, newfriend

Why not AkkoXDianaXUrsulaand Croix when she gets out of jailAnd where's the rest of these pics?
>>2396673
Calm down, Diana.
>>2396697

Also, art from tumblr isn't a takeaway like it is on /a/. Stop pretending you know this boards culture
>>2396697
>Oh shit, is there more?
It says 3 on the top so i would assume its part of a series given that YuriWhale likes to do 4koma stories like that
>>2396751
I'm not even that anon, just telling you to lurk.
If you've stopped being so offended, post more yuri.
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12572424/1/A-Princess-and-Her-Kiwi
Top tier fic. So farit's been real good but I'm curious how it'll handle the dramatic moments to come and theratings change to M.
>>2396666
YES.
I live for this pairing.

Reporting!
Time for an actually decent pairing.
>>2397885
Those aren't /a/nons. Those're Tumblrites who sit on /a/ threads.
>>2397915
Not him, but that seems to be that way. The /a/non that offered to translate mentioned it in the respective thread and not in the pixiv page. Who on their right mind would translate the doujin in the very pixiv page? Only Tumblrfags.
>>2397915
>Tumblrites
Worse than Hitler.
Why are cake exes repairing their broken relationship after 10 years of bitterness so good? All I want is to see them make up, comfort each other, have a wholesome relationship and get married and start a family.
>>2397950
Maybe it's the simple aspect of living precariously through someone of one's own age instead all of these middle-schoolers that otherwise occupy the medium.
>>2397894
You're welcome. My japanese is really weak, but I'm glad I can at least translate these kind of easy things..?
But I just realized that the second one's not about holding hands, it's supposed to sound lewd. I struggled a little with the artist's description, and it mentioned hands so I assumed it was supposed to be about that. This is hard.
>>2397970
Well, going with one of this site's memes, handholding is one of the lewdest acts ever.
I wish we got more LotteXBarbara
Yes, Bento graces us with more premium ship.I stand by my suggestion to pay for more Charoix.
>>2397999
Apparently someone already paid him to do a comic continuation of this so it's not lile he won't take it if you give him money to draw CC.
Any love for Akko/Sucy?
>>2398055
>>2398098
>tfw the only SucyAkko doujins are futa
it hurts
>>2398172
Why do you think /u/ would care about this if it's a male self insert?
>>2398173
>>2398498
Don't forget to report it.
>>2398172
>>2398173
>>2398498
C'mon, it can be salvaged right? Can someone turn the male MC into a female MC?
>>2398538
Should've opened with that, and been upfront about what it was instead of letting people walk into it blind. Any support might've vanished.
>>2398538
I don't want my character to date all the girls, I want all the girls to date each other. MC should be Akko or any other girl not an OC
>>2398055
Sucy probably prefers being NTR'd to dating Akko herself.
>>2398586
Considering she's into vore, yeah I can see that.
>>2398113
I would say it's a crime but for some weird reason it fits.
Are there any Diakko doujins without sex?
Series was meh for me, but all the fanart for this were damn good.
This made me chuckle.
>>2398784

Diana's little monologue reminds me a bit of the one from Pride and Prejudice.
>>2398784
What did Dinana expect from dear Akko?

Because it is literally the one from Pride and Prejudice.

Autism.
Legit the guy on /a/ who made that edit does so purely because reading left-to-right offends him somehow.

repostin what I just posted on the /a/ thread seeing as it's 100% nsfw
>>2396475
>HQ DiaAkko doujin
I'm also interested in translating this doujin.
Will the universe implode if two different groups/entities translate the same doujin to English?
>>2399418
No, you'll just have to live with people comparing the two and arguing over differences.
>>2399427
Considering the other translator is from /a/, and I don't browse from /a/ nor I care what they think and /u/ would just bitch I'm a nazi anyways, this will not affect me.
>>2398504
>Don't forget to report it.
Looks like that doesn't really work anymore, it seems there's some rule we don't know about that posting and keeping completely non-yuri, or we can say it's anti-yuri, related posts and content on /u/ is now allowed for some reason, I can't understand on what basis that game is related to yuri discussion.
It's like people post images and links to heterosexual doujins or games which mostly get deleted, but it's strange to see that this LWA fangame with male MC is not getting deleted from /u/.
Looking at general or release thread where posts get deleted the moderation exist on /u/ after all.
>>2399446
>anon so triggered he has to bitch
Simpler explanation: not enough people have done it.
>>2399459
That futa image in the last thread is still up and I've reported it at least 5 times from different devices and I'm sure other people have done it too because it's futa. Now apparently futa it's ok, like on dynasty. How disgusting.
>>2399545
You're an idiot.
>>2399561
Go and post futa then. It's the future for yuri.
>futa in /u/
>>2399561
You migh be lost. I suggest you to leave.
>>2399568
>victim complex
How reporting things against rules indicates a victim complex?
>>2399572
It doesn't. Acting like a single pic in a now dead thread not being deleted means futa is now allowed does.
>>2399575
And yes, that is a terribly-written sentence, but you should be able to get the gist of it.
>>2399575
I was just using that info trying to say that moderation has always been kind of mediocre. That's it.
>>2399432
That's a good picture.
Why doesn't anyone ship Sucy/Lotte?
>>2400019
They do, it's just that it's a very "pair the spares" ship so it doesn't get much. Bit of a shame since I love the aesthetics of it.
From /a/
-Magic in the world of LWA is deeply linked to trees; this due to Yggdrassil being the source of magic.
-On the flipside, witches have longer
-Very powerful witches with magic flowing through their bodies are destined to become trees due to all the power they drain from Yggdrassil. Woodward, Beatrix and many other witches with high magic potential became trees. (Well, it was obvious with WOODward)
-Jennifer Memorial is Jennifer herself turned into a tree.
-The Cavendish State is filled with magical trees that were former Cavendish witches, the larger trees with the most magic power are the previous family heads.
-(Somber tone)Diana herself is destined to become a tree...
-The tree that appeared in episode 9 was Holbrooke's mother
-On the flipside, witches have much longer lifespans for the same reason: the more magic they use from Yggdrassil, the more tree-like they become and trees have longer lifespans than humans.
-Holbrooke is over 150 years old.

>>2400207
They better make some exposition this in Season 2.
>>2400235
What about the tree rejuvenation ritual at Diana's house?
>>2400207
That's some really nice lore there!
Though if they end up like Woodward wouldn't that make them technically immortal?
>>2400245
It only works if
>you have a strong connection to Yggdrasil
>have high magical capabilities
So from the current cast only Akko, Diana and Chariot would turn into trees after they die (of natural causes). And that's not even getting into the spirit projection that Woodward can do.
>>2399397
Do you have any more of this?

Road trip during a summer vacation. Akko/Lotte is an underrated ship
This anon here
>>2403422
I've watched the first two OVAs and I'm on the fourth episode of the series. This series is pretty good. The animation style probably one of my favourite things, especially in the OVAs. Characters are pretty good too, the only ones I don't like are those two girls that follow Diana around like a rash. Diana is great though.
Ep4 has a pretty disturbing start. Was Twilight actually big in Japan and why are there still references in the year of our lord 2017?
>>2403500
Don't really know, but it's still the go to parody for lonely girl romance novels. Also, a forewarning. Once episode 6 rolls remember this: everything that was setting between Akko and the other character was explicitly dropped afterwards.Saying it now since almost every time a sis comes around to the thread after watching that episode causes a shitstorm around here.
any news about Bokujou's doujin?

>>2403502
I've just finished watching it.You're talking about the guy, aren't you? I see /u/ never changes. A massive fallout when a man appears is still custom here. I didn't mind it though, the show seems too much like a slice-of-life thing to have a love interest and he seemed too old anyway. The ep did cement Diana as one of the best girls for me though will how little fucks she gave, as if I didn't like her already.I kind of like Constanze/Jasminka, they just seem like they have cute chemistry even though they barely speak. I can already tell it's not going to be popular, I have a natural ability to gravitate to those kinds of ships, so don't worry about warning me.
>>2403527
>Spoilers
no its because the people that incite the storm are fuckheads that lack critical thinking skills and have no impulse control. They immediately come here and shit fury acting like we don't already know and this isn't the 11th time it's happened.
>>2403527
>The ep did cement Diana as one of the best girls for me though will how little fucks she gave, as if I didn't like her already.
She's pretty divisive, actually. At least, on places that aren't /u/. People tend to like her a lot (because she's competent, and later on gets some build up/history/a lot of nice scenes), or hate her because they think she's a little too perfect.
I fall on the former, but the latter is mentionable.
>>2403537
I guess she would be. I like her because of her competance too but also because she goes against the stereotypical grain of being a rival. Normally a rival is constantly at odds with the MC and they dislike eachother, with the rival normally starting shit, especially at the start of a series. Instead Diana is the one fixing shit, all she's done so far is teach and help when Akko fucks things up. She isn't even that in-your-face about it, she only gets villified by Akko because the two girls following her are right cunts who antagonise her constantly and use Diana as their excuse. The only incident I remember her cause so far (I'm on ep 8) is with the tree in ep 2, even then she was just doing it with the best of intentions and she didn't accept the gratitude of the teachers because she knew she didn't fix it. Yeah she seems perfect but it was shown in the first few eps that she didn't know everything and that she could screw up too, she was even ready to admit it.
Perhaps I shouldn't claim too much, I'm not even half-way through after all. But I still really like her so far.
>>2403549
It's not a bad thing, you're pretty much on the nose. Diana is an ace, but she--while not quite humble--is never obnoxious about it, which makes her likable compared to other examples of her character type.
I can't wait for you to reach the later episodes; like anon said, she gets some really nice scenes and development.
>>2402923
I've always wanted to see the girls being affectionate with eachother and finneran stumbles on them
>>2403613
Not bad - I was looking for something more of a one-shot idea, because I'm a one-shot kind of author. Maybe I can fit that in. I'm kind of formulating something right now.
>>2403628
I think you're looking for the yuri game thread.
>>2403549
I'm happy I'm not the only one thinking this. Diana is just very serious about magic and her studies and along comes Akko who expects that magic will everything for her so she can achieve her dream. Diana doesn't take this shit, and doesn't hide that fact. But she is never mean to Akko, never belittles her, she only tells her the truth and more than not actually wants to help her.
It was actually pretty annying how Akko almost never seemed to learn she needs to study and practice to achieve her goals. And her screw ups helping her and the shiny rod enabling her thinking process because when she used it were the only moments she did actual good magic. And it can be said that without the shiny rod, she would be nothing.
You could argument it's because she lost her magic but Diana is proof that practice, studying and passion will even fix that.
But I guess this all falls into the cliche anime trope of making your MC useless and just run on pure stupid and 'just do it' attitude instead of training/studying. Can we please stop this.
>>2403667
>Akko almost never seemed to learn she needs to study and practice to achieve her goals
I don't think that's fair. Akko realizes she needs to study in episode six and keeps it up after that. You frequently see her training with Ursula after that.
>Diana is proof that practice, studying and passion will even fix that.
The thing is, Diana is probably more naturally talented than Akko and had more time to relearn magic as a child.
>>2403667
Don't forget that Diana came from a distinguished magic family while Akko didn't. I think her parents might be muggles, which--combined with the not-so-inaccurate idea that she suffers from ADHD or something similar--gives at least some reasoning as to why it's so difficult for her to learn shit.
I'm up to ep 15, I can see the plot is really picking up now. It's nice to see some Chariot scenes finally coming in and Akko wrecking Diana during the faerie strike was pretty funny to watch.>Modern is evil
I wish this meme would cease to exist.
>>2403880
But it's true.
>Eps 19 & 20
10/10, I thought /u/ was exaggerating about the Diana scenes. I didn't expect two whole episodes. Diana best girl.
>that Vicky Pollard reference in ep 22
My sides have gone.
That last episode was pretty gay. Wow.
My only complaint about the series is how Amanda, Constanze and Jasminka were barely there. If I hadn't watched the OVA beforehand I wouldn't have understood why they were close to Akko, Sucy and Lotte. Amanda's theft of the legendary broom and her acrobatic skills had no explanation to them, not even a mention of her being known for thievery. There's no real mention of them being 'delinquents' but they get lumped with Akko & co with their punishments and their bad luck as if you're expected to know that.
There's pretty much no link shown between them in the first half, not even a real introduction, yet they'd keep showing up in Akko's dorm room and act friendly with them throughout the whole series. Amanda and Constanze get an episode each but that's right towards the end before the climactic episodes when really you'd expect that far earlier, and Jasminka didn't even get that much.
I admit I'm probably over-reacting because those three were my favourite part of the OVA and I wanted to see more of them. Other than that though the series is quite good, that really was the only complaint I had. The amount of western references in it were surprising but they were funny, the yuri potential is top quality and the majority of the characters are likeable.
Watching this has kind of made me regret missing out on anime for years, but at the same time I get the feeling there's not many out there like this one and I know how much trash you have to sift through to get to the good stuff.
>>2404019You should watch Izetta if you haven't yet.
>>2404019This Anime is not as great as many people try to make it look, there are better things and more Yuri, even with similar theme. For me this Anime is mediocre at best, I am not going to congratulate the studio for not really striving when they should have done well in the first place.
I enjoy it, but I'm disappointed in many ways
>>2404022
Is that even /u/ related?
>>2404035Much more than LWA
>>2404035
Officially? No. More-so than LWA though. To me at least. One of the MCs is devoted to the other one. There's also that one episode scene that has very strong familiarities to a Disney movie scene.

Yes.

It's just a classic case of 'different strokes for different folks', but I understand where you are coming from. I'd never say it's a masterpiece and I can totally see it's flaws but I can't deny that I really like it. I do prefer the OVA's but the series hasn't done a bad job either, I really hope it gets a second season.I have no shame in admitting I have what most people would consider 'garbage taste' anyway, so I don't mind if other people don't like the stuff I do since there are normally good reasons.
I like it because it's the kind of thing you can watch while relaxing and I can have a laugh. It's like a slice of life only this one didn't bore me senseless like other ones I've watched. And at least it did have a plot, even if it was tucked away for most of the first half of the season.
Honestly though it was really the characters that kept me sucked in. Anything I watch I won't stick around unless I like the characters, even if the plot is amazing and everyone is praising it. They were perhaps generic but they had the right amount of zing in them to stop them being forgettable.
>>2404019
The show should have had an episode about Amanda's crew in the first half that would have shown how they work as a unit. Developing their relationship with Akko much later just isn't that interesting. If that meant axing episodes, I'd have gone with either 5 or 9.
Akko believed in the heart of the cards.
I love ぎゃふん's Diakko stuff. Very cute. The hickeys give me a fic idea
>>2404102
They're also a RanAo fan. This artist has exquisite taste in OTPs
Kiwi is getting me really worried. Hope this whole angst angle blows over fast enough because I don't think I could handle it here.

If you're in it for memorable/fun characters, Western references, and a good time, I absolutely recommend checking out the rest of Trigger's original works:
>KLK (also good for yuri)
>Space Patrol Luluco
>Inferno Cop
>Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt (Trigger in all but name)
>Ninja Slayer (if you end up liking Inferno Cop)
>Kiznaiver (interesting concept, interesting characters, nice animation, terrible writing)I'm a big Triggerfag, so I may be biased
I just found out that Diana's friends are called Hannah and Barbara.
>Hannah
>Barbara
Trigger really are westaboos, aren't they? Either that or it's for the overseas/Netflix crowd.
>>2404118
>>2404118
Self-admited westaboos. But it helps keep their content fresh, at least when compared to other studios.
>>2404127
Of course your average anime fan probably won't be too keen on that. That LWA is pretty much a cartoon with an anime coating doesn't help either, even if I like it.
Since when is Diana a controversial character? She is easily the most popular in the TV show. The real controversial character is Akko herself, specially in Japan.

>>2404178
Did you miss the last few posts or what? Scroll up; anon already gave us reasons as to why she's controversial: either you think she's the most well-developed character on the show or she's a gigantic mary sue that Trigger loves shilling, at the expense of other fan-liked characters, such as Sucy or Amanda.
does anyone have that composite image of snapshots from the show, showing Diana and Akko going from dislike to respect to genuinely liking each other followed by the shot on top of the broom in the last episode?
I can't find it

Given the hickey on Diana I guess they were awake all night and just couldn't finish in time.

Say what you will about tumblr, but they're a lot better at producing content than 4chan.

>>2404310
Hm, I dunno. I'm also interested in this book and we're certainly good at yuri scanlations. Conflicted.
>>2404309
Shit, looks like I might have to, I went into this without noticing many of the pages are over 4MB. I don't recall what the filesize limit on imgur is, it might have gone up since I last used it
Well I've started now, give me a moment, I'll have to whip out photoshop
>>2404186
You're overestimating the controversy, specially in relation to Akko, and underestimating her popularity.
>>2404312
Waiting.
Dont worry and thanks in advance
>>2404311
Don't you not even know Japanese? I see you always looking for translators. Plus, you down scale down to 2000px, which is pretty small these days, given the fact a lot of people have 4k monitors. Releases can always be scaled down for smaller monitors without quality loss, they can't be scaled up.
>>2404289
You do know a lot of images here are from tumblr but renamed with 4chan filenames, right? Hate tumblr all you want but it's one of the best places to get decent /u/ fanart or fics, you can just ignore everything else they say or do. Not everyone can be bothered to rename the images for snowflakes such as yourself.
>>2404320
I know basic Japanese and I do translate some of the doujins we did. True we need translators to increase production and I use them to TLC my stuff.
>Plus, you down scale down to 2000px, which is pretty small these days, given the fact a lot of people have 4k monitors
What? 4K is 3840x2160.
2000px is sufficient unless you position your monitor like a phone. And our raws are either in 3000px or 10000px, so we can scale them in any resolution we want.
>>2404325
>I know basic Japanese and I do translate some of the doujins we did
It shows.
>we can scale them in any resolution we want.
But you don't release them that way, so what good does it do.
Also, please learn how pixel density works.

No one asked.

Right, I'm back. Fuck me. Cardinal rule of life, when you're in a rush, everything that can, will fuck up on you. Photoshop tends to make Firefox freeze on me, it wouldn't unfuck itself, had to reboot.
On with the show for the like, two people who haven't already read through it.

>Either that or it's for the overseas/Netflix crowd.
It isn't. They've had those names since the Anime Mirai short. And it's less to do with Yoshinari being a westaboo than some of the character names tying into the fact the show is an allegory for animation. Yoshinari is well versed in animation history, and often scolds Imaishi for his lack of knowledge.
>Akko Kagari = Akko Kagami from Himitsu no Akko-chan, generally considered the first magical girl. Also apparently women in the animation industry are often nicknamed Akko.
>Lotte Yansson = Lotte Reiniger, who pioneered silhouette animation, made the first feature-length animated film, beating out Disney's Snow White + Tove Jansson, creator of The Moomins.
>Hannah England & Barbara Parker = Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera, creators of Tom & Jerry at MGM and later made the studio Hanna Barbera, revolutionising limited animation for TV. Their surnames appear to come from a pair of British athletes who are also coincidentally called Hannah and Barbara.
>Avery = Tex Avery, fostered several iconic Looney Tunes characters at WB and later Droopy and Red Hot Riding Hood at MGM.
>Mary = Mary Blair, concept designer at Disney, most noted for Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty.
>Blair = If not also Mary Blair, then presumably her brother-in-law Preston Blair, animator at Disney, MGM, and HB, famously made an instructional book for animation.
>The Nine Olde Witches = Disney's Nine Old Men, who established the rules for animation which are still followed today.
>Shiny Chariot = the whole idea for LWA stems from Miyazaki having gone into animation inspired by "Panda and the Magic Serpent", and after some years working in animation, he went back to it and was now less than impressed by it - Yoshinari feels there's something fundamentally wrong about that.
>Croix = the CGI scourge, or at least the notion that as animation becomes increasingly reliant on technology, some of the "magic" is lost.
>>2404393
I knew most of these but not Lotte/Blair. Interesting.
>>2404393
That's pretty fascinating. Not often I see this much thought put in.
