Wish I knew. Best I can understand Kira's father had everyone in his family sterilized for some reason. Minami's mother was basically paid by Kira's father to have one of his children on the condition she was sterilized afterward, so Kita and Minami are sisters from different fathers.

Kita hates her own "family" and sees Minami as her only true family. She also wants to give her father the finger by using her own DNA to create a child using a surrogate mother. But if she paid some random woman to do it she'd be no different than her father, but the procedure could kill the surrogate mother, so Kita doesn't want to risk losing Minami, her only family.

At some point Minami falls in love with Kita, which tripped me up because up until that point she seemed to barely tolerate her.

Story felt very rushed, could have used another two or three chapters to develop the plot

I was just curious because so much 'Love Live' came out lately.
I would say, I'm not really a fan of 'Love Live'.
I do not hate it, but I do not find it interesting.
I just don't quite understand why not started mangas to be further translated, such as '2DK' or others, or more adult-like mangas? I can not imagine that no one is interested in more adult-like manga. I'm not talking about the Manhwas ala 'Wdtfs' or anything similar.

It's gonna vary based on what people are interested in. LL stuff gets translated because people really like LL whereas other stuff is dependent on a) being able to get the RAWs and b) finding someone committed to translating/typesetting etc.

Basically if there's something specific you want translated, you either have to offer to translate/typeset if yourself, commission a group to translate for you, or pray someone else does one of the above, and the sad fact is a lot of anons are gonna be in that third group.

There is a number of things you need to keep in mind when you're thinking about working on translating a manga.

One, the availability of raws. Will you be able to get them? Will you be able to pay for them? Will you be able to scan them? Moreover, will you be willing to do it over and over with no outside help?

That's where the popularity comes in. There are plenty of lesser known series that are pretty interesting but don't have that "spark" (sex, gratuitous violence, gay boys with big hands, """romantic""" relationships bordering on abuse, etc.) to bring in the big crowds. When you're dealing with obscure titles, you have to be prepared to work on your own. And that's kind of hard, boring and takes more time than people are usually willing to dedicate to a hobby. Try scanning a volume of about 100 pages, then cleaning it, then typing in the translated text. It's mind-numbing.

Finally, as >>2394716 said, you have to consider whether you'll be able to keep to a schedule. Because if you can't do it, might as well not start at all.

All in all, doujins give translators more leeway. No schedules, no deadlines, raws are usually widely available, and if not, nobody's going to miss That One Doujin Where They Had Sex #47 that much. Only problem is having to come up with inventive names for your "sex noise" folder while typesetting to keep yourself awake while copypasting "Aaah" for the thirteenth time on one page.

You also have to think that love live and touhou have established characters for the most part. And mostly everyone knows them at this point.

Unlike say a single 1 off one shot with characters people don't really care about, these are characters people know and love. So they'll be able to see it at a glance and want to read it.
We also have a pretty decent understanding of what people will like regarding those characters, a random 1 shot is a risk and may or may not have people interested. But a known doujin like nicomaki will almost always be liked by a large group of people.

You see, these two stories will both guarantee to have the main 2 ending up together, but in Citrus at least you can see Yuzu and Mei flirting and gay shenanigans going on throughout the story, for 2DK it's just a fucking long and arduous process with no bones thrown for us yuri fan whatsoever. Ofc someone will prefer that kind of story, but recently 2DK has felt like such a chore to read that I just want it to end as soon as possible.

It has been in translation or so, for over a year or longer. It's a change which is other than just Love Live or Touhou or where nothing happens.
