This is what i understood, but the translation promised by CT will let have a better insight.

In the extra bonus story, Mei accidentally meets Harumin during a rainy afternoon. I am pretty sure she was nonchalantly waiting for Yuzu to finish her supplementary lessons. She is wearing the ring.

After minutes of silence, sinceHarumi is texting Matsuri and does not seem keen to engage in a chat with Mei, Mei breaks the ice and asks Harumin how Yuzu is with her, what do they talk about when they have their friendly meetings.

Harumin rounds the tables. What do the sisters talk about at home? How is Yuzu in the intimity of the house ?

No one wants to reveal a part of Yuzu they only know, like a treasure they want to keep for themselves. So status quo.

Soon, Harumi recognizes they are the same. Before Yuzu entered their life, they were aloof and didn’t talk much. Harumo tells Mei that she have not talk at school during three years before Yuzu appears.

Here is a very nice short story on the impact Yuzu has on the others’ life and how she was able to bring happiness to Mei and Harumi.
She is the cement of the group. Without her, Matsuri, Mei, Harumi, Nene and others would have been left in their own world without a chance to know each other.

But there is not romantic feelings from Harumin (even though she could have feelings before but let them down since she knows Yuzu has a lover), Yuzu is just a soulmate in term of friendship, a platonic life-partner and her savior, the one who saved her from loneliness.

I just understood some panel with a little amateurish translation. The purpose of this story is two show how Yuzu opened Mei and Harumi on different levels. It is a pretty change a point of view too since Citrus is Yuzu's point of view centered.

The first story is pure crack and comedy. Mei's facepalming and showing some funny superstitious side with Yuzu's strange habit to have bizarre stuffed toys.

Very funny when she says to Mei that she's cutter than her big strawberry soft toy implying that Mei is a better cuddly toy. Their interaction are like those of an old couple.

If you have chapter 20 in mind. Chapter 19 is worst in translation, and i don't think that the official one (Seven seas) is accurate concerning balconny scene between Mei and Yuzu.

In fact, Yuzu just made a speech where she speaks her mind and respects her line of conduct : friendship, be yourself and stand proud. Mei, well, was Mei.

Yuzu lost the election as expected : Mei won easily it seems, but Mitsuko just played the tsundere to "test" Mei and Yuzu resolutions. She admired their courage to respect their values and follow "thier path" so she let the new president decide for Yuzu.

Mei, of course, did not expelled Yuzu. She stamped her books as a sign of her taking the lead of the school. And kiss scene in the principal office room ... with Saburouta trolling us in the last panel.

So yes, these two chapters deserve a new translation.

Well, here's my short story so far. I wouldn't class Kuzu no Honkai as Yuri but they had the whole Ecchan and Hanabi thing going on, and that was when I first realized that, funnily enough, the whole 'Yuri is pure' meme is somewhat true and I found the sincere love Ecchan had for Hana to be really fucking touching. When Hana finds the sweet wrapper Ecchan had kept for years ;_;

I also happen to be trying to watch more anime this season and seeing as I love my romance dramas (White Album 2 is one of my favorite anime series of all time) I latched on to the first thing I saw and that was Netzuzou Trap, which only had one 7/8 minute episode out at the time but after seeing lots of discussion about it on the internet I realised it was better than I thought and the two main girls have a deep connection that also pulls on my heartstrings.

Technically that makes it the gateway, but it was only from there that I moved on to Citrus through associated word of mouth in Netsu threads and I think I read several volumes online in one sitting, because it's fucking awesome.

So yeah, that's my experience so far, and I dunno' if it's sad but reading Citrus makes me feel little happier, I feel there's a certain something Yuri has that het stuff doesn't, maybe it's the two girls thing (element of taboo, two girls is cuter than one..etc) but it's just so incredibly heartwarming.

Well, they're not related by blood at all so there's nothing wrong with it, not like how /a/ likes to meme that incest with your imouto is the purest form of love, here it's fine.

And I think it adds to the story, Yuzu struggled with wanting to be there as a sister for Mei after she realized she tries to carry the weight of the world on her shoulders, and also with wanting to be her lover. We know how amazingly nice and selfless Yuzu can be, so it built up her character more to know that she was willing to hurt herself and try to bury her love to support Mei. (which is also proof, that Yuzu loves Mei 100%sincerely and she loves Mei more than she loves herself).

And there's a slight, or was, a slight taboo aspect to it and it's a different dynamic to them just being best friends since they live together and such. I think it's pretty important honestly.

You know what I've been really happy about? In those Yuri threads I've seen a few anons who share similar feelings to mine, people who understand the love between yuri couples like Yuzu and Mei, or Yuma and Hotaru. Not just that but specifically the relationship dynamics, like empathising with how Hotaru will self sacrifice for Yuma every time or people who genuinely feel Yuzu's happiness just being with Mei.

Being a lesbian for life, at least traditionally is frowned upon. Just reread this a while go after not keeping up with it for years. What is with this author and introducing random new characters almost for the express purpose of having them confess to Mei and create pointless drama? I can't even take it seriously cause they literally come out of fucking nowhere and you are meant to just take it for granted they love Mei based on minimal background info, and that it's anything but a stupid plot device. I guess the situation with the twin girl is not quite as stupid since she serves to develop Yuzu's character a bit, but it's still pretty fucking stupid.

...now that I tihnk of it pretty much half the characters in this manga have been introduced as some sort of love rival.

Not really love rivals, they really did not have any chance, especially in volume 7. Since the confession in chapter 16, they is not any real romantic adversity.

They were triggers. The real rival was Matsuri, after that, Sara and Shirapon were just characters to help Yuzu or Mei to understand their feelings. Nothing more, but i recognize that the twin sisters arc was not very good, except for the last chapter and Yuzu's confession.

The real subject now is how Mei and Yuzu learn to do the little gestures of the everyday life of a normal couple... before the coming out ark and the drama that will follow.

I have the feeling that this summer trip arc is a king of fluffy gift from Saburouta before more serious matters that our two young lovebirds will be confronted to as stepsister problematic.

I guess the distinction you are making between Matsuri and the others kind of makes sense in hindsight, but I don't think it's that clear when you are reading the actual arcs. Especially since I think both of them were preceded by conflict between Yuzu and Mei. Plus the fact that the twin somehow dated Mei (for all of 5 minutes). Even if those arcs are being used to move the plot forward, I can't take it seriously when it's done in such a stupid contrived way with characters introduced only for that purpose and with kinda nonsensical motivations.

I would like to see what you are talking about, definitely need a few fluff chapters at this point. As for the whole stepsister thing, it seems logical that they have reached the point where that is the next issue to address, but it seems like this kind of underlying tension to the whole series, so who knows how long the author will drag that out or even when it will be addressed.

Matsuri's and the literallywhosisters' arcs are the lowest points of the manga. What actually made them much worse was the fact that at the time the manga was still bimonthly.
Anyway after those it gets much better, just hang in there.

The stepsister thing can be resolved without ending the manga. How ? It will be the turning point of the manga. Mei and Yuzu met (and Yuzu was almost lovestruck) before knowing their stepsister status.

It is almost a slice of life manga now, so, problematics like school (what Yuzu will do in her future, for Mei it is settled), familly (we don't know who Mei's mother is, what happened to Yuzu's father...), finding their place in society ... can be adressed when this "big problem" is resolved.

I may add that Saburouta has a great panel of possibilities, let's hope she can follow a strict narrative structure. Since she knows the ending, that is just the travel until the last chapter and its length that is unknown.

So what's with Yuzu and Mei trading 'love bites' agsin? Did Mei threaten to leave one where Yuzu couldn't hide it or did she want Yuzu to do exactlt that to her because she felt guilty about hiding her ring?

Ah yeah I didn't mean to imply something like that would be the end of the manga. I just don't have the impression that it will be resolved in the next few arcs, but who knows what will happen. Personally I don't mind slower story progression at this point.

Yuzu wanted something they can share. They cannot wear their rings during the trip, and hickeys are too suspicious (they'll to the onsen).

The fact that Mei is touching her neck is cute as fuck. She clearly think that they can share another one and thrive for other physical display of affection.

But she plays her tsundere and refuse Yuzu's request to kiss everyday.

When Yuzu says, at the end of chapter 30 (waiting for translation for confirmation) that "she'd like to do many new things with Mei only, that's what make her happy" like fishing for exemple, Mei has only the kissing initial request in mind.

You can tell how each of them sees the other by how they hug, Yuzu has her hands wrapped all the around because she wants to be as close to and deep into Mei's embrace as possible and also to literally wrap her up in her love, while Mei has a more 'protective' arm layout in her hug(?) with one going round Yuzu's back.
