>Thinking you can keep putting it off.
You're going to choose eventually.
What do you mean 'eventually'? There's only one choice.
It just doesn't make any sense to me. We already know what happened to Chloe and Rachel. The only way to make a 'how they got there' story interesting is if Rachel also had time powers and there was a lot more stuff going on. But the trailer makes the game look like it's told from Chloe's perspective, and we know she wasn't aware of anything like that.
here from /lisg/, was told to post here
It should be somewhere on ubermachineworks.tumblr.com, but I don't have the exact URL, sorry m8
There's quite a lot more on there under /tagged/life-is-strange
I love this one too
Not really, sorry
Yeah, sure. But Chloe is the protagonist here, and she was in the dark about time stuff until Max showed her. So either she never finds out, meaning it has no real bearing in the game, or Rachel somehow makes her forget, meaning it's pointless.
Dare I ask, What I'd miss?
> The only way to make a 'how they got there' story interesting is if Rachel also had time powers and there was a lot more stuff going on
relax, she'll have "insolence" and a "choice of wardrobe" to see how people react.
it's the story of rachel finding out she has super resurrection powers that will have her get back after LiS...
... right ?
Just finished the game. I'm honestly a bit disappointed at the ending, it felt rushed and anticlimatic to me, especially if you choose to save Chloe.
A shame because I thoroughly enjoyed the game otherwise.
Also what's with that scene where Max is tied up to the chair and gets NTR'd by everyone? I laughed my ass off when I saw Chloe going "oh Victoria you're a real woman, unlike Max, she's such a child" and they start making out, that was so random.
The game isn't very good but people lower their standards because it panders to their niche.
I didn't really care about Chloe at all but the game wanted me to, despite the developers saying they don't want to make the gameplay prescribed. I also felt like they couldn't ever decide if Max was supposed to be her own developed character or just a player vehicle. The writing overall is really juvenile, not in "these characters are dumb kids" but in "this is something a dumb kid would write." They should have made the game either a little girl lesbian simulator or an actually consistent and well written story, it tried to do both and didn't do either that well.
The only character I felt any attachment to at all was Kate. Everyone else felt like someone watched Juno too many times and wanted to copy Diablo Cody's writing style.
It was representing Max's insecurities.
Glad you're here to clarify that.
But in all seriousness if you don't like Chloe or Max you won't like the game. While the game is pretty hot or Miss I thoroughly enjoyed the parts that focused on Chloe and Max especially their rekindled friendship and blossoming but awkward attraction to each other.
It felt earnest. The tornado thing did feel tacked on for muh angst especially with the murder mystery being interesting.
Although I do think the twist could have been for shadowed better.
All in all not perfect but enjoyable but as I said I enjoyed Max and Chloe.
I think the writing itself is actually pretty good, judging from that scene. The problem is threefold, and they're all in the execution.
a) Chloe and Rachel now have extremely similar voices, which sort of muddles the scene
b) The mixing isn't done very well. The voices still sound like they were recorded in a studio.
c) Chloe's VA isn't very good, but I don't think she's as bad as a lot of people seem to think. I think a) and b), along with her new voice being a shock, makes her seem worse than she actually is.
So I think a lot of the issues can be fixed before August 31st, and I think that I could get used to Chloe's new voice.
Both of these girls are terrible.
I like Max okay but she feels weird as the pilot character because she's always commenting on her tastes and such so I wasn't sure how to get into the role. I'd probably enjoy it more if it was either more linear closer to something like VA-11 Hall-A or much less linear and let Max be a complete self insert where her tastes and personality are dictated by the player.
Yeah, I'll give the new one a try even if I was left disappointed with the first LIS.
From what I've seen with the choices both seemed like things Chloe would definitely do, so maybe it'll be easier to enjoy it as a game.
Also took one look at the title and nope.
Go take that edge back to Yharnam.
I see where you're coming from because every time I had to make a choice I wasn't thinking "what do I do?" but rather "what would Max do?", especially the final one.
On the other hand I'm glad that she wasn't a full self-insert character because I feel like the game would have been a lot more boring without her witty remarks.
Yeah I think both ways are valid, I do like Max, just not how she fit in the game in terms of gameplay.
It'd be funny if I end up liking before the storm more because I don't particularly like Chloe that much but I think she might be a better POV character.
>player chose the "Frienship" option instead of the other, that was most likely romantic
>saved Kate on the rooftop in episode 2
>if I save Chloe everyone in Arcadia Bay dies including Kate
>mfw this basically turns into choosing between wanting Chloe alive and wanting Kate alive
>everyone in the town is dead
What are EBS transmissions, warning horns, evacuation and general survival instincts (read: OH SHIT A FUCKHUGE TORNADO I BETTER RUN THE FUCK AWAY)?
Sis I think you've been watching too much porn.
By 'sequel', you mean 'prequel', right?
I don't think any LiS 2 footage had dropped, just some for that Chloe/Rachel prequel one.
I saw the trailer for Before The Storm and I know that's a prequel to LiS, but I keep hearing people talk about a sequel also in development. It says the same thing on wikipedia, but I can't find any info about LiS 2, just more stuff on BtS, so is there actually a sequel in development?
There's no "sequel", the second season will feature new characters and setting, none of which has been announced yet.
So it's entirely possible that it won't have any /u/ related content, maybe even have a male protagonist (though it would be stupid of them to not cater to the relatevely big fandom of the first game, so I guess that there will be new lesbians in one way or another).
Rachel a cute. And we only know what's been going on with Rachel, how she was seen through other characters' POV so I wouldn't judge her just yet. We don't know for sure how things were in her life, how she really was. We shall see in BtS.
Although it's not /u/ related, I always felt like Frank and Rachel's relationship was a loose end that never get tied off.
I was really expecting a big confession by Frank on the beach scene in episode 4 where he tells Chloe about how much he loved Rachel.
It would've at least made Frank showing up at Chloe's funeral a bit more touching. Nobody else understood what it was like to lose Rachel like they both did.
I see well I don't mind it but it certainly doesn't belong here.
On second thought, that's interesting. If Max were to remove Chloe's bra, then shifted back to a time where Chloe was wearing it, what would happen to the bra?
Maybe a catastrophic paradox ensues. Maybe timeshifting DOES work that way. Either way, groped Chloe, so it's worth it.
Brooke lusts for dick. So no.
I just wish there was more Victoria dominating Max art/fanfiction out there.
I'm gonna wait and see how het it will be. In all honesty I'm just a little disappointed in the lack of /u/ in some games.
Seriously. Thanks for this thread. Love Pricefield.
I don't know if I want to play a game where a repressed lesbian crushes on her best friend who just can't get enough dick. Especially when I know that both of them are going to die anyway.
It's too much like one of my Japanese animes.
Chloe's not going to die, silly, not when her homicidally protective girlfriend is around.
I finished the game yesterday and now all I want is to protect Chloe's smile.
Today is Rachel's birthday!
Say something nice to her.
E;R as much as you hate LIS why are you always shilling your stupid video about it in LiS related things?
Also your video is shit you you spend 90% of the video bitching about the fact that god forbid a character that has flaws is still a likable character.
just going to leave this here
S I N F U L
kissing himreally doesn't make a change because you can still get kiss, or just journal entries. in either way Max feelings getting implied after the dream sequence that she was developing some feelings for chloe.
Sorry. Kate's now a Handmaiden of her Feudal Lord Max.
So, I'm certain that this interpretation has been raked over the coals a thousand times by now. I only played the game a few weeks ago (went full /u/, obviously), so I wasn't keeping up with the "discourse" as the game was coming out.
As far as I'm concerned, the choice at the end of the game is fake. Or possibly underwritten, or just badly written (most likely DESU).
The central conceit of the story seems to be that Max fucking up the timeline over and over using her powers is what causes the tornado to destroy Arcadia Bay. She didn't *just* alter the timeline to save Chloe, she also altered the timeline to change what happened to Jefferson, and by proxy, herself. She went back before she even discovered her time altering abilities and
* tore up her photo
* subtly altered her behavior at Chloe's house 5 years ago, to the point that she gives Chloe a cryptic promise that she will never abandon her.
But apparently, in the ending of the game, if you choose to go back and let Chloe die, a choice which crucially, *doesn't* alter any of the other things she did while time-leaping, somehow, that makes the tornado go away?
A teenager fucks up countless timelines repeatedly in the course of a week, but the fact that a lesbian exists somewhere in Arcadia Bay is the actual difference between whether a whole town gets to live or not?
So here's how the game *actually* ends:
> Max kisses Chloe goodbye and leaps back to the moment Chloe dies.
> Max cries deeply for her lost lover.
> Max returns to the present, where HOLY SHIT the TORNADO is still happening and IT'S EVEN WORSE because WHY THE FUCK would making YET ANOTHER TIME LEAP make things better
> Max realizes she still has the photo
> Max goes back, saves Chloe
> In the present, with an even larger tornado bearing down on the town, Max explains that the town is just doomed.
> Same "save Chloe" ending proceeds from there.
This is canon now.
That stuff is pointless. The game purposefully doesn't give you enough information to figure out what's going on, so why worry about it? Just kill the town and hold hands with Chloe.
The ending is stupid anyway.
Why does that nerd kid automatically know why the storm happens and is 0% concerned by any of it?
Why didn't Max ever try to warn anyone besides the homeless woman?
Why is there a dream sequence with the sole purpose of guilting you into not killing Arcadia Bay?
Why can't Max get a harem ending with Chloe, Kate and Victoria?
Why can Chloe's dad live for about 10 more years when he should've been dead without nature going crazy, but Chloe being alive for less than a week fucks everything up hard?
Why does Kate dying when she should have lived not fuck up nature either?
Why does Max get a vision of the tornado before she saves Chloe?
Why does the universe hate Chloe so much?
Of course Warren doesn't know. He's just bullshitting based on scifi novels and hopes Max can't tell the difference.
Because Rachel became a vengeful spirit after her death and wants company. The only way she can have it is through human sacrifice, which is why she engineers a situation where Max will have to sacrifice someone. She'd prefer having Chloe to yank around for all eternity, but she can live with an entire town as her servants.
>make a sequel with two death chars that pretty much becomes a
cucksimulator if they actually are frank about Chloe wanting Rachel's vag
>Not making a sequel with Max in college, like real college not not!HighSchool, and having a Victoria or Kate route...
I just took away the pretty girl she used to follow around like a puppy. In fact, her behavior was very similar to Victoria's in the timeline where Max is one of the cool girls.
So Before the Storm is out?
Spoiler alert: Chloe and Rachel are pretty gay for each other.
I haven't played it, but from the way everyone described her in the first game, I came away thinking there was something psychologically wrong with Rachel. The way she seemed to perfectly fit in with everyone like some kind of social chameleon is kind of creepy. It makes me wonder how much of the Rachel Amber that Chloe fell in love with even existed.
Max was a fucking asshole, might change my mind on best ship
Remember how people didn't like Chloe because she was angry at Max for basically cutting her out of her life when she moved to Seattle at a time when Chloe really needed her?
Rachel is a devil in angel's clothes. She's really unsettling, with her mind games and dragging Chloe down with her bad influence, like a textbook sociopath taking advantage of a fragile person.
Huh, so Joyce was right that Chloe could be something if she applied herself enough
>Max wondering about the Storm in her visions and how to stop it
>Chloe:I wonder if I should if Rachel's banshee screams and ability to summon wind could be related to this, I'm sure it's not.
>You're going to choose eventually
Yeah, I'm going to choose to play a game that actually has an ending that wasn't hackneyed.
>tfw Chloe will never get the harem ending
>tfw the more mean Victoria is the more hot she gets
Didn't LiS hint at this pretty strongly? Especially with how she was stringing Chloe along while sleeping with Frank? Rachel was remembered by everyone as damn near perfect but beneath that it was implied that she was manipulative and somewhat controlling. BtS is just letting us see her in real time.
welp. just cleared the first episode of bts and holy shit they made chloe pretty fucking gay. too bad they felt the need to have useless eliot.
rachel looks like textbook sociopath like >>2417660 said. good thing max comes in to save the day after that.
also steph is best girl
