Overall, They started going to shit around 2014, but the real nails in the coffin happened around late 2015/ early 2016

1. Poor Half in the Bag TFA review where they gush over the movie undeservably.
2. Space Cop gets released and is pure shit, showing they don't still don't have any actual talent as they're in they're 40s and are still making the same shit they were when they were teenagers, which is why they stick to shitting on other people's work
3. Plinkett TFA review spent over half the review backtracking to the prequels, and when it got to reviewing TFA, Mike obviously didn't have any interest and he completely half assed it.

The problem with nu-plinkett is that Mike understands few franchises at the level of Star Wars. He doesn't understand the Matrix enough to properly shred apart the sequels, for instance. In the other non-SW reviews, his humor carried the review. Mike is pushing 40. He's lost some of that biting edge that made Plinkett work. New reviews seem like Mike's hastily edited thoughts, a skit or two and it's online.

The only other property Mike understands on a base level is Star Trek. The solution is to review more Star Track. He can review VOY season by season. About an hour each. It's aching for an ass ripping. ENT would make a great review. There are even some movies he can do.

Here's what I noticed after being a previous fan: roughly around 2015 it began to slide downhill.

They used to be a couple of film nerds that looked at movies on technical levels beyond plot, while participating in an absurdist plot centerted around them reviewing and drinking beer. Now they're just two dudes talking about a film with nothing really interesting to say. I saw it going downhill a whole year before the obvious Disney payoff for a goof TFA review. They simply gave up everything that made HitB good in order to sit back and cash in.

They got old and gave up their idealism, and settled on a cheap career that gets marketing checks rolling in. Kind of inevitable, and supremely ironic given how Cucklasa used to rip on Lucas for doing exactly that. I guess Lucas gets the last laugh here.
