Because it's shit. There are no likeable characters, the writing is boring, the acting is vanillas.

Let's talk about Rick and Morty
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily fromNarodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

i like it a lot. I don't think it's perfect but it kept my attention throughout and it had a very complex plot. Bateman is a very talented lead dramatic actor, and I can't believe I'm saying this because I never cared too much about him.

The daughter is that kid from Junior Masterchef who cried because her cake mix was wrong.

She was a cute kid, but she's grown up all weird and supermodel faced. But also exactly like a girl I used to be in love with when I was 18, so it works for me.

The show is solid, btw. Looking forward to S2.

People already finished talking about it because they put out the whole season all at once. That's the downside to Netflix shows, but if it makes you feel better people do really seem to like it and this will probably be a good thread, you should wait until you're done to create a thread though because there will inevitably be spoilers. That's the other problem with getting the whole season at once, you can't speculate about what the next episode will be, you have to discuss the whole season or nothing at all.

I got very bored around three episodes in and haven't picked it up since, which is unfortunate because I think it started out pretty good.

There's just been so many "audience confirmed!" tropes in these three episodes that I don't think I'd ever pick it up again desu. Leftovers did the same thing, and I'd sooner be caught dead than watching yet another American teenage girl be moody and dumb.
