Once Game of Thrones wraps I think I'm going to quit television. I was a few years late on season 1 of True Detective, but I think that series broke television for me. It will never get that good again. Game of Thrones has found itself grandfathered in before I turn it off for good.

I'd like to see HBO do more miniseries. There's a ton of fantastic stories to tell, but many of them are too complex for a movie but don't require an ongoing show.

If I had the budget, and I could get the directors of my choice on board, I would ask people what their favorite historical event is.
I would take the ones that haven't been done to death (WW2) and make a miniseries out of it.

I would probably start at the top universities in the world. Ask the history professors first, and work my way around each department to get a well-rounded selection.
