Unfortunately UHF got bad reviews when it came out and didn't do well at the box office. It was slow to gain it's cult following because the VHS tape went out of print early. Its popularity skyrocketed in 2002 when the DVD finally came out. By then I guess movie studios had lost any interest in working with Al or he had just moved on.

I'd like to see a sequel where he parodies YouTube videos.

The only reason why I don't find UHF very funny anymore is because I have seen it at least 30-50 times. Several scenes made me cry from laughter, which simply doesn't happen anymore

UHF was released when Ghostbusters II, Batman, Lethal Weapon 2, Licence to Kill, When Harry Met Sally, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade were in theaters, so it really never stood a chance, especially against Batman or Indiana Jones.
