In the EU? yes.

In actual Star Wars his suit enhanced him in terms of what he was physically capable of. His prosthesis took away none of his speed or agility and he only feels pain from it when it's not connected to his nervous system. But when it is, it feels every bit apart of him as his biological parts do.
