Why do you queers always feel the need to lie so much?

HOSHI: You'd love my enchiladas.
REED: Enchiladas?
HOSHI: If you don't like them, I can fix something else. What's your favourite food?
REED: I appreciate the offer, but it really isn't necessary.
HOSHI: Aren't you getting a little tired of having to eat whatever Chef happens to serve?
REED: No, he's a fine cook.
HOSHI: Don't get me wrong. He's terrific. It's just that dinner in the Mess Hall can lack a certain personal touch. I've got a hot plate in my quarters.
REED: That's very flattering. I'm just not sure it would be appropriate.
HOSHI: What do you mean?
REED: Well, we work together and it just might be a little awkward, Serving on the same ship.
HOSHI: What does that have to do with? (enlightenment arrives) Oh! No, I didn't, I didn't mean to imply anything other than just making dinner, Lieutenant.
(Hoshi stands to leave.)
REED: Well, then, it's my mistake then.
HOSHI: No, it's my fault. I shouldn't have. Yeah, I'll just.
REED: No, please, finish your dinner.
HOSHI: No, no, no, you've got a lot of work to do, so.
(Hoshi leaves with her tray.)

That picrelated scene to the end:

REED: Maybe you'd like to see the phase-cannon assembly.
VEYLO: Please.
(Reed unlocks and removes the hatch.)
REED: After you.
(He enjoys the sight of a tightly-trousered rear end.)
REED: It has multiphasic emitters and a maximum yield of eighty gigajoules.
VEYLO: Impressive.
REED: I'm sorry it's so cramped in here.
VEYLO: Don't be. I've wanted to get a little closer to you all day.
REED: Really?
VEYLO: I was hoping to spend some intimate time with you. Maybe we could sleep together tonight.
(Reed stands up suddenly and hits his head on a pipe.)
REED: On Earth, it's customary to ask a woman to dinner first before spending the night with her.
VEYLO: It's very different on Vissia. It's only when a woman enjoys her intimate time with a man that she'll join him for dinner.

Shuttlepod One
Original Airdate: Feb 13, 2002

(It's now minus 5C, baseball caps are firmly on and jackets zipped up to the chin.)
REED: My dearest Deborah. By this time I'm certain you've learned of the tragedy that befell the starship Enterprise. You've also undoubtedly learned that my colleague, Commander Charles Tucker, and I did manage to survive for a few days after the accident. It's during that brief time that I've chosen to correspond with you. Although our relationship was short-lived, and at times tumultuous, I can't help but picture your beautiful smile. It gives me great comfort. Think of me from time to time. Cordially, Malcolm.
(There is static on the comm.)
REED: A ship?
TUCKER: It's a little more modulated than the last one, but it could be just a random gamma-ray burst.
REED: My dearest Rochelle. By this time I'm certain you've learned of the tragedy
TUCKER: Wouldn't it be easier just to record one message and then add the Dear Whoever afterward? This is your fifth or sixth identical letter.
REED: That's not true. There have been subtle differences. I would never refer to Rochelle as having a beautiful smile. With her, it was the eyes.
TUCKER: Travis and Hoshi couldn't have been more than twenty four or twenty five years old.
REED: If the Captain were here with us now I wonder if he'd feel guilty about bringing them on this mission.
TUCKER: Not for a minute. They died doing what they loved.
REED: I don't remember Hoshi loving much about being in deep space.
TUCKER: She was coming along. She saved our asses on more than one occasion. I plan on letting her family know just how essential she was.
REED: Sounds to me like you do have some letters to record.
TUCKER: I'll wait to tell them in person.
REED: You know, your treacly optimism is beginning to get just a little bit tiresome.
TUCKER: Unlike your heartfelt letters of farewell to half the girls in San Francisco?

REED: Here, what do you think of T'Pol, hmm? Do you think she's pretty?
TUCKER: T'Pol? Are you serious?
REED: Well, she's a woman, you know? I think she's pretty.
TUCKER: You've had too much to drink.
REED: Don't tell me you've never looked at her, you know, in that way.
TUCKER: Nah, she's a Vulcan.
REED: Well, I think she's pretty.
TUCKER: Oh, God.
REED: You ever noticed her bum?
TUCKER: What?
REED: Her bum. She's got an awfully nice bum.
(Tucker raises the bottle and makes a toast.)
TUCKER: To Sub-Commander T'Pol.
(Tucker drinks, then passes the bottle to Reed, who also makes a toast.)
REED: Awfully nice! (Drinks)

He was great in The Twilight Zone, where he played in two separate stories... One as a newlywed who, along with his wife, encounters a devilish little fortune teller in a small town, and another as a man who is recovering from a fear of flying whose resolve is severely tested by a strange apparition that only he can see. He also played a wonderful role in a similar series, "One Step Beyond", as an ex-German soldier who, while working in a peacetime shop, was occasionally called upon to defuse unexploded bombs left over from the war.

https://youtu.be/virWAAPPWK8

I'd like to see more of his earlier stuff, but I haven't found any yet. I really do like what I've seen, though. The only thing I've ever disliked about him is that he is too proud to be a jew.

What you consider decent is really dependent on what you like. Your Vulcan would be frigid, so all the action might have to be above the waist. Their participation would be operant on your being able to make an argument that you had regular needs (you actually kind of do, so not a huge obstacle).

If you had some BDSM leanings you might be thrilled with a perfunctory hand job delivered with something like contempt.

This makes me so sad that they cut ENT short.
Imagine multiple seasons of Archer going HAM against aliens?
The foundation of the Federation doesn't make too much sense because the aliens have no reason to respect humanity, by that point we'd pretty much done nothing.
A few seasons of a human ship going around fucking alien shit up would've gave us that rep and some great scifi.

Imagine being Miles O'Brien on that station and having to be all like "damn, Deep Space 9, you fuckin' fine, all sexy with your dull grey corridors and horrific architecture. I would totally perform maintenance on you, both my mirror universe counterpart and the real me." when all he really wants to do is serve on Starfleet's flagship in the transporter room. Like seriously imagine having to be O'Brien and not only work overtime while Deep Space 9 flaunts its disgusting consoles in front of you, the favorable lighting barely concealing the poor cable management and rusty flux capacitors, and just sit there, day after day, hour after hour, while it breaks down even further. Not only having to tolerate the monstrous fucking promenade but its good reputation as everyone on station says its STILL GOT IT and DAMN, DEEP SPACE 9 LOOKS LIKE *THAT*?? because they're not the ones who have to sit there and watch its self-sealing stem bolts contort into types of trash you didn't even know existed before that day. You've been maintaining nothing but a healthy diet of transporters and flagships and later alleged cloaking devices for your ENTIRE CAREER coming straight out of the boonies on Earth. You've never even seen anything this fucking disgusting before, and now you swear you can taste the rust that's breaking out on its dented hull as it is sucked in by the vacuum of space, your colleagues smugly assured that you are enjoying the opportunity to get paid to sit there and revel in its "statuesque (for that is what they call it)" beauty, the beauty the Cardassians worked so hard for with Bajoran slave workers in the previous years. And then the commander calls for another maintenance check, and you know you could kill every single person on this station before Odo could put you down, but you sit there and endure, because you're fucking O'Brien. You're not going to lose your future Starfleet Academy career over this. Just bear it. Hide your face and bear it.

It just means that if you want passion, you have to supply it. Think highly realistic sex doll. Vulcans run hot and cold, mostly cold. If that's not what you're looking for, it's as simple as not dating Vulcans. Considering it's not actually an option for you, that works out just fine.

>>87355348
Let's be honest, here. You'd do as well in a believable fictional world as you're doing in this one. Would a version of you capable of what you want be at all recognizable? What you really want is to be someone here that would be that there. Galaxies and green women are tall orders, maybe start small and work your way up.

What is "it" anon ? What goes against "their ridiculous notion that they are members of the opposite sex by taking some hormones and having some operations" ?

Why do you want to put a 2010s political context to a 2000s story ? How could 2000s scenarist could offend 2010s "trannies" ?

Maybe every bit of fictionnal work from a time period is just the mirror of the common beliefs adopted by people from such period.

I just wanted to say that we cannot make scenarists say something they didn't. And that my simple comparison between a fiction from 2000s depicting the future to the actual context of the 2010s was just here to highlight how far we have descended by 2000s standards.

Not officially, no. She later claimed it was some kind off experiment, but did not go into any detail. She did have some kind of off screen interaction with Trip's clone in an eariler episode. Perhaps her experiment involved some desire of hers to compare the two.

There's enough time scale since DS9 to have multiple generations going at the same shit.

An overlapped TNG/DS9 generation, maybe a non-TNG watching late-DS9/VOY generation, then anyone who didn't catch shit on its original run. ENT probly fits into that too. Hard to generalize all of them together.

You're basically saying all you lack is proper motivation, else you could be great. I'm kind of suggesting that if you had greatness in you, maybe it would have made its own opportunities.

In the Trek world there's a real interest in all areas of science. It's nearly universal, among humans at least. We're defined by our curiosity, a driving need to go further and learn more. For you to fit in there, you'd have to have that in your life here. Or there'd be at least that change in yourself.

Data is not human. His inaptitude at engaging small talk without hurting other people (sometimes) is actually the tip of the iceberg. He too could tear of the harm of Riker in that scene. He had the strengh. But he didn't, why ? Because it knew it would be painful ? Nope. Because he had no interest in doing it.

Maybe he is a life form. Bacterias are also a life form.

I might have misread your intentions, and I apologize if I did, but it struck me as if your post was declaiming a love for "all areas" of "science" as a whole, which strikes me as passionless and inauthentic. Genuine scientific interests manifest in specific fields of science, much as how actual scientists tend to specialize in the field for which they hold the most passion. A person with an interest in, say, microbiology will be reading and upvoting articles on microbiology, and not necessarily trying to spread the word about how great physics is or how neat climatology is or how awesome and totes-cool "science" as a whole is. It might all be in my head, but what you were doing looked to me more like empty posturing to make yourself appear intelligent rather than an actual true interest in some form of science.

And your tirade about cussing gives credence to the "empty posturing" theory.

They were trying to be unfamiliar, to reflect a few hundred years of cultural progression (some of it with extraterrestrial influences), so to do that on the cheap they went to Pier One or some equivalent and bought a bunch of vases. Brilliant, really.

Interesting aliens
Solid storytelling

DuckDuckGo. How Google does things internally is none of my business, but I don't approve of them meddling with search results for ideological reasons. It's sinister and I won't be complicit.

As for the other thing, it really is just a basic rule in writing. Don't trust me, ask a few English majors. I'm actually not on /tv/ much, especially not the Game of Thrones threads. It looks far too involved for me to want to pick it up in the middle. More importantly, I'm not sure I want to pick it up at all, invest much caring into characters, and then have them die in some way that's creative but unsatisfying. Some of why I haven't played D&D in years. It's not a problem if it's a satisfying and character-appropriate way to go, but usually it's something stupid.

Nearly everything and everyone in TNG, DS9, and VOY is so obviously fake, it's absurd.

Enterprise was produced with a level of realism and believability that was theretofore unprecedented in Star Trek. This goes for the people most of all. The characters act more like real people than some pretentious, wigged out, faggoty hippies in pajamas, high on their ridiculous faith in communism.
>>
>>87362241
There's a guy that shitposts about DS9 fans constantly, when questioned about it he once revealed that he only does it because he says that 2010 /trek/ was full of DS9 fans who shitposted about other shows in the franchise and he's been taking his revenge ever since. When you see him, tell him "7 years" to remind him how ridiculous it is to hold a grudge against people that long, especially as if they ever existed at all, they probably aren't here now.

I'm not seriously worried that Google is going to enslave or destroy us, just that they're doing bad things and shouldn't be encouraged in it. My personal semi-boycott won't do hardly anything, but when bundled together with my fellow Anons, we form a mighty cliche.

As for paying, I never have. That's another issue of principle. I sometimes click on an ad, but my contribution is mainly by way of making posts, which I do put effort into. Remember that the general rule is that 90% of the traffic is lurkers, and half the posts are made by 10% of the posters. Hiro supplies the venue, we supply the entertainment, the lurkers keep the lights on.
