The exact point where Stannis' arc failed was also the exact point where the entire show jumped the shark: when Stannis burned Shireen. It went completely against his entire character and was done by the writer hacks purely as a cheap way to generate "drama". It was the point at which the whole series broke down; there had been a lead up to it for sure, but once this happened the show was beyond hope. If you can take a defining character trait of a character (love of his daughter) and then have him burn her when in the very same season he demonstrated that love to her, then any integrity of the characters is completely gone. And now we're here at whacky anime assassins and teleporting armies whilst characters like Tyrion, Littlefinger and Varys are reduced to mediocrity by dreadful writing because they get in the way of GOOD vs EVIL battles.

He's not a bad character at all, but the show did fuck him over recently (normies don't like him but he wasn't "fun" like Joffrey so he gets no screen time, even when his character desperately needs it for the plot, like Bran's "reveal" at LF's trial). Had the show kept things even slightly like the books or at least not cut his time down to the bare minimum he'd be more interesting. A shame too, because in earlier seasons his character went a bit beyond the book Bran and might have been interesting. He was a lot angrier, for instance, which might have influenced some of his later actions.

I'm sure he had fun watching Jon being conceived, maybe he'll get to himself and the rest of his family eventually too. He also likely enjoyed all the rape at Craster's keep, that must have been gorgeous.

This was profoundly stupid, but I think they were going for LF being no match against magic. Admittedly, he would have no way of knowing that Bran was magic and all the scheming and manipulating can't beat that.

The problem is the show fucked up the pacing and the order of scenes as usual. For some reason the show hates Bran and cuts him as much as possible, the issue being that he was really important to LF's downfall so cutting scenes with him ended up making LF's trial completely nonsensical. They should have established some proof of his powers to everyone, somehow, so they would believe him. Instead he just said some cryptic shit and LF just immediately agreed to it, but people in the room should have been instantly confused instead of just going along with it.

They also should have cut the "chaos is a ladder" scene because it just made LF look retarded (even when we ignore that he had no way of knowing Bran's magic was real).

Also LF trying to make Sansa and Arya fight was also stupid and inexplicable. It wouldn't have accomplished anything, it would have made more sense for him to try to get either one to the Vale, either Sansa to go back with him (good to get away from the crazy autist too), or get Arya (and possibly Bran?) to the Vale to marry SR or to ostensibly keep them safe.

Even if Lyanna was alive, if Jon had wanted to join any army in a war, she would've let him do it. It was not about doing everything to give Jon the longest possible life

Sure he hates gays but pretty much anyone in medieval times did, and really most characters save for Olenna did. And it's a small price to pay for the King's Landing populace to finally be treated like actual people.

After every kind of shit Cersei's did, she needed someone to put her back in her place, and I believe the pragmatic Kevan sided with the Sparrow because it reasserts his rightful claim over Casterly Rock and has Tommen become a very popular King.
