This. If that scene was written by some real writer like Chase, Weiner or Gilligan, it would have been a girl who was hiding and the DEA guys would have drilled her right in the pussy

Is this season any good?

Surprisingly good in my opinion. The show fares fine without Escobar

>>
Season was fantastic. Just as good as the previous dynamic - though I can't fucking believe how lucky Jorge was. He deserves to relax somewhere in Nebraska eating KFC with best wife.
>>
>>87333512
He went back to texas with his father and told him he's done working for the DEA.

In earlier scene right before that fence building scene we see the Mexican cartel thugs shipping cocaine on some boat in that muddy lake.

Pena stopped and stared at the Mexican cartel thugs shipping cocaine into America in front of him.

This is supposed to set him off, he changes his mind and takes the Mexico offer.
>>
>>87332580
yup

at least they should have noticed the blood on the drill

that and when jose hid in the accountants office from the dea
>>
This season was carried in part by the actor who played Jorge. All the chips were on the table and each episode I dreaded how things would turn out for him and his family.

I fucked up and spoiled the season for myself by glancing at an article headline about an interview with the real Jorge Salcido and what he thought about S3.

The headline alone fucked it up for me.
>>
>>87333921
But didn't he see a boat first? Then he told his dad that he quit. Then he stares at the second boat?
>>
>>87334386
His ending/outcome was so retarded. It seemed like they were building him up for something much bigger at the beginning, a Pablo 2.0.

>>
>>87333444
Is there a more punchable face?
>>
>>87334499

The show still follows real people. There was not much of a show to be made of him. The only way they could have gotten something out of Chepe would have been for the focus to remain on the Cali cartel for a second season with Chepe going after some witnesses. Would have been pretty boring in the grand scheme of things they did with this season.

>>
>>87335087

Well thats what happened. Pacho was killed in prison for trying to have a Norte de Valle cartel member known as Jàbon killed a week before. Chepe had some low level witnesses killed after his jail brake and got killed (there are 2 stories about how he was killed and they showed one of them in the end). The Brothers are still in prison and the Cali Cartel died.

>>
>>87335185

They went too easy on his portrayal as he was a known blood thirsty torturer. He killed people too clean in the show, while the real Pacho would be your run of the mill horror movie psycho butcher. The only thing that showed his sadistic side was the motorcycle scene and that was "justified" by them being dicks to him for being a faggot..
>>
>>87332959

will they follow los Zetas?
I actually need to look into this.
maybe Pena will end up dead by the end of the show.
>>
>>87335637

Well that's how the story went more or less. I personally was dissapointed with this season as it felt too trivial and the pacing was way too fast. They should have made 2 seasons out of the Cali Cartel and get some actual build up and flesh out the characters more as well as focus on the political corruption.

Still, everything is boring in Latin America compared to Pablos story in the war against drugs.

There were basically not any violence from 50s until mid-2000s, back then Goverment made deals with cartels to let them transport drugs as long as they don't make a mess.

In 2006, Calderon was elected President, his cousin is married with El Chapo's cousin, so it started everything, he declared a "war" against drug cartels and basically attacked all rival cartels of "El Cartel de Sinaloa" (Chapo's cartel), the problem is they start breaking organizations apart, back the there were only 2-3 big cartels, now there are dozens of smaller cartels, and they fight each other to gain turfs and bussiness deals.

am I the only one who thought Pallomari was kinda funny. I mean, his lines weren't particularly funny but his appearance and mannerisms and the way he spoke were pretty humorous, especially during that courtroom scene in the final episode.
>>
>>87337296
Maybe the "humor" didn't translate well in english but he did say a bunch of shit and the way he talked too

Now, the real guy and character is chilean but the actor is a Spaniard and didn't even attempt to speak in a chilean accent and just spew common slang, he also throws a few spaniard words in there
Really makes you think if the guy took it seriously at all
I'm not chilean though so I don't know if he got it right but my guess is that he didn't
>>
>>87332580
I swear to god this entire season has just been those two younger DEA guys wanting to move the plot along and Pena being like "No, we can't do that. I don't have a reason but we still can't."
>>

He was helping his father work in south Texas and they saw some smugglers coming up river from Mexico. Not much more to it, really.

>>
>>87340668

>>87340412

Yeah they actually brought him onto set to consult with him, and he phoned in some interviews as well. Just googled it real quick once I finished the season.

Actually kind of surprised me too
>>
>>87340668
I don't know, if I was a cartel boss I'd whack the guy purely out of principle. To show that even if the guys you ratted out all get nicked, you'll never be safe no matter where you go ever again. Just to dissuade rats in my own organization.

I'd be surprised if this is not a common MO among organized crime groups.
>>
reminder that both Miguel and David started this whole shit
Miguel killed Salazar just because he wasnt treating Maria correctly thus North Valley fucking their shit up and David with the gas leak that alerted the DEA.
>>

It's been like 20 years and most of them are dead, in jail, underlings working for someone else. And he's still under witness protection. I think they simply don't have that kind of power anymore.
