No, it's just fan optimism. People thought Bowie was making a secret cameo because Davis showed up and wasn't on the original cast sheet, but Lynch turned him into a fucking teapot.
I asked this in the other thread, but it was deleted.
What are homages to other Lynch films in the show?

But he had so much fun this time, he really loved it. And he got to do it the way he wanted to. It’s like an 18-hour movie, so he’s happy. Let’s just stay positive. If they played "I've Seen Footage" I would flip the fuck out. It would rocket this show to 10000/10.
1945
The atom bomb is detonated for the first time. Whether through fear, fire or something else, the gaps between our world and the Lodges are thinned out.
The Experiment voms up a load of eggs. Possibly also BOB - or perhaps he's the dad. Either way, they are connected.
The Woodsmen and at least one egg pass through to earth.
BOB passes through to Earth (or an Earth-adjacent bit of the Black Lodge) at this point too. At some point he will meet MIKE, who will make him his familiar, and from this point on, they will go on their rapey murdery spree up until MIKE sees the face of God and repents.
The Giant and Senorita Dido respond to the presence of BOB, or the Experiment, or both, on Earth by creating the Laura orb. Either it lands in 1974 as Laura Palmer is conceived, or it enters Sarah or Leland Palmer to ready them for that conception.
1956
The Woodsmen have developed a rudimentary understanding of human behaviour and technology. The Experiment guides Abraham Lincoln Woodsman to put the New Mexico town to sleep.
Sarah Palmer (for it is she) swallows a frog-bug. This gives her the psychic abilities/Lodge connecting power seen in the original series. It also allows the Experiment to possess her, if need be. I suspect she was targeted because she had the Laura orb in her, in an attempt to neutralise or keep tabs on her.
(Grace Zabriskie, who plays Sarah Palmer, would have been 15 in 1956 so that more or less fits the age of the girl.)
1956-1991
At some point in this time period MIKE and BOB end their partnership. MIKE cuts off his arm and siphons the worst of his personality/sin into a separate being, the Arm.
Also BOB - now a lone agent - steals the other Lodge beings' Garmonbozia (cf. MIKE's remarks previously). This fucks them all right off.
He escapes to Washington, Earth, where he abuses (probably) and possesses (definitely) Leland Palmer.

sleep tight sheryl!
>>87211294
1974(ish)
Leland and Sarah meet, marry and mate. Yes, BOB is probably fucking his mum. Laura the magical orb girl is born.
1986(ish)
At the age of 12 BOB begins his nightly visits to Laura. He seems intent on breaking her down so that he can possess her.
I suspect that the purpose of the Laura orb seen in episode eight was to be a trap for BOB. If he possessed her he would be obliterated. More on that shortly.
1989
Philip Jeffries enters a portal in Argentina, the poor sod.
1991
A lot of people die.
Laura is contacted by the Arm and the Tremonds, who want her to wear the Owl Ring. That will stop BOB possessing her, which will leave him alive so he can be captured and punished at the cost of her life.
Dale from the end of season 2, stuck in the Lodges, tries to warn her across time not to wear the ring but she ignored him, does so, and is killed.
In the middle of season two, BOB, after leaving Leland, is captured by the Black Lodgers and put on trial. This trial is what Jeffries saw in FWWM after entering the portal. present at the trial are the prosecution (the Arm, the Tremonds) and the defence or public gallery (the Woodsmen, the Jumping Man). I also suspect the Jumping Man may have been the Experiment constrained or disguised, based on the way Sarah's face was imposed on his in episode 15.
The upshot of that is that BOB is found guilty and locked up in the Black Lodge for the remainder of season 2 (slight parole when Josie dies). The Missing Pieces version of the scene ends with BOB crawling into the Red Room followed by the Arm.
(Jeffries sees all this after getting lost in time after entering the portal. He also sees Mr C's creation in the Lodge. He escapes to warn Gordon but arrives too early - note how he looks at the calendar on Gordon's desk in despair - and then vanishes again.)

Black Grandma: Origins
>>87211335
1991 cont.
BOB sees an opportunity to escape when Windom Earle and Dale Cooper enter the Lodge. He extracts Windom's soul and uses it to make the doppelganger, hereafter referred to as Mr C. He then rides Mr C's body out of the Red Room like a prisoner in a laundry cart.
1991, immediately following S2
Mr C and BOB, alternating control of their body, visit the emergency ward. BOB rapes Audrey, who is in a coma; Mr C gets hold of the Owl Ring.
Mr C also visits Briggs, who is spooked and fakes his death. He then goes into partial hibernation in the White Lodge, emerging here and there to do it's bidding.
Mr C also visits and rapes Diane. He then replaces her with a doppelganger.
1991-2016
At some point before 1997 (which is when Dougie has his car crash), Mr C creates Dougie Jones out of a 'seed' and some of his own DNA as a get-out plan for when the Lodge comes knocking. He gives Dougie the Owl Ring either to keep BOB from possessing him, or to ensure Dougie will be transported in his stead (cf. Ray) or both.
I'm not clear on the Briggs timeline but I believe he may have taken Dougie's ring and swallowed it, knowing his death was approaching, in order to lead the authorities to Dougie - either to expose Mr C or because he knew Coop would have taken his place by that point.
At some point the Experiment enters the White Lodge. The Giant summons Cooper from the Red Room and speaks to him across time: "It is in our house now." This could happen at any point, really. Not clear when.
The Experiment also decides it wants to be reunited with BOB.
Mr C becomes aware of the Experiment and wants to capture or destroy it for his own ends, or to avoid it killing him. He uses the money he's built up in South America (possibly by killing Gordon's man in Columbia) to fund the box in New York. It's purpose is to pull the Experiment in from beyond our plane and capture it.

2016
Cooper is all set to return to Earth when the Arm's doppelganger - apparently allied with the Experiment - boots him into non-ex-is-tence. The box, by coincidence draws him in, but as it's not designed to contain him, it ejects him again.
The Experiment, possibly following Cooper, then gets pulled in itself, but is too strong and goes head-munching instead. It will later contact Mr C pretending to be Jeffries and mockingly tell him, "I missed you in New York... Soon you will be back in the Lodge and I will be reunited with BOB."
That doesn't happen, of course. Cooper is deposited in the White Lodge's purple room, where he is briefly threatened by the Experiment ("Mother"), which has infiltrated there, before departing with the help of Naido.
She has set the room's current from AC to DC in preparation for him to exchange with Mr C through Mr C's (DC) cigarette lighter. Instead, he is pulled through Dougie's (AC) wall socket. MIKE destroys Dougie and pockets the Owl Ring.
(A side note: I think it's interesting to observe that there doesn't seem to be any co-operation between the White and Black Lodge's any more. The Red Room lot were going to deposit Coop using a portal behind a red curtain; the stuff about the sockets only came after Coop was booted out into space and pulled into the White Lodge. Also, the Giant spoke to him apparently in secret after summoning him across time. That doesn't mean they're entirely at odds, but they could have different goals or schemes.)
Meanwhile, Jeffries - who may be a kettle, but isn't a bad guy, it seems - allies with MIKE and sets up Mr C to be killed by Ray.
Mr C is also arrested, during which time he deliberately acts weird in order to trick Cole into bringing in the Diane doppelganger, who is to be his inside woman.
The Experiment, meanwhile, has figured out that Mr C is on his way to Twin Peaks and has decided to use the long-ago-ingested frog-bug to fully inhabit Sarah and lie in wait
>>87211306
>tfw Croatian but still no episode
>>87211482
2016 cont.
For their part, the White Lodge has remained active, ensuring that Andy and co would be present near Jack Rabbit's Palace (it was about the bunny!) in order to collect Naido once she'd finished being catapulted through time and space, and recruiting Legend Larry Hulk Hands to be her capable protector.
So now we have five parties converging on the town: Mr C, who seems to be searching for The Experiment with BOB inside him; The Experiment, who is inhabiting Sarah Palmer (and may have Woodsmen in tow); the FBI and Sheriff's Dept who want to figure out what's going on and save lives; the White Lodge crew (Larry, Naido, Andy) who have an unknown plan; and Cooper, who seems to have some idea of what's happening and is being guided by the Red Room crew while carrying information imparted to him by the Giant in the White Lodge.

Interesting podcast Kyle just did where he talks about FWWM and s2's decline, but I can't help but wonder if he's turned into Mr. PR. Every time the interviewer asks a somewhat slightly controversial question like typecasting being the reason why he didn't want to be in FWWM or if he had bad blood with Lynch and that was why he wasn't in any other Lynch projects, Kyle gets evasive and skirts around the question. Thoughts?

The melodrama and camp of the first episodes are difficult for younger millennial viewers to reconcile, considering most murder-mystery-detective-shows they've been brought up on have been pure edge and grimdark seriousness. They brush it off as goofy, antiquated, or "too 80s-y". I love Angelo but I have to say the dramatic use of music can be a bit over the top early on.

Tbh I actually really liked that scene despite how repetitive and long it was. Really captures what Sarah's life has become: constantly trying to keep herself sedated with an endless loop of alcohol, nicotine, and television in an effort to keep her (literal) inner demon from coming out.
My theory is that the only reason she went to the bar was because she ran out of alcohol at home and didn't want to go back to the store because of the scene she made there in Part 12. She even tries to make the guy leave her alone before she succumbs to whatever it is that's controlling her.

Just rewached episode 3 from the first season and this conversation between cooper and hawk draw my attention:
>Cooper : Do you believe in soul?
>Hawk: Several
>C: More than one?
>H: Blackfoot legend. Waking souls that give life to the mind and the body, a dream soul that wanders.
>C: Dream souls... where do they wander?
>H: Faraway places. The Land of the Dead.
>C: Is that where Laura is?
>H: Laura is on the ground agent cooper, that's the only thing im sure of.
I have a theory that The Fireman is actually the dreamer, and the lodge spirits are just his dreams.
The phrase : "We are like the dreamer who dreams, and then lives inside a dream", could mean that the all the lodges, mauve zone, convenience store, etc... are located in different dream or existence planes, and dead is one of the ways of "awakening" from the real world and going to the "Land of the dead" in this case, the black or the white lodge.
The reason why i think the fireman is the dreamer that is above all, it's because he sees the events of both the real and the spiritual world in a screen, and because he knows what is happening and what will happen next. He also created Laura from his head floating in the air laying down.

I literally rewatched them yesterday and that's what spurred me to post. I feel like I almost understand most of what's happening in them now.
>>87213360
>ebin good vs evil final battle
good coop running at evil coop anime style while this plays in the background
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdxaNeRn1GA
then they start throwing energy balls at each other or some gay shit
Why is no one able to actually explain the end of the season 2 finale?
>>87213416
That wasn't Laura's theme it was "Heartbreaking" a new track
In S2, why didn't they just have Bob possess someone else and kill again?
The Windom shit was so stupid and boring
>>87213041
Holy shit
>>87212188
jumping man is the same dude in the new series
So maybe I'm retarded but, who dis??!
>>87213521
ronette pulaski
Why did evil Coop go from being crazy in the S2 finale to being quiet and boring
>>87213292
>Not Cooper waking up and telling Harry Truman that Leland Palmer murdered his own daughter
"Diane, I'm driving out of Twin Peaks now, remind me to tell you about my dream later."
>>87213581
I wonder about this too
>>87213544
The uh.. huh.
>>87213581
it struck him as funny
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hTxiUD6jXQ
>>87213581
25 years would change anyone
>>87212125
McLachlan always gives evasive answers for questions he's uncomfortable with. I'm not sure if it's all PR or if he just doesn't like talking about specific topics. He also always pulls the age gap excuse for why Coop never boned Audrey even though most of the show was building towards that.
WE ARE NOT GOING TO TALK ABOUT VEDDER
WE ARE NOT GOING TO TALK ABOUT VEDDER AT ALL
>>87213581
Now he is parody of modern antihero in weekly tv films
>>87213503
>Doppelganger leaves the lodge, BOB with him
>Cooper stuck inside for 25 years
That's literally all there is to it
>>87213509
The beginning sounds exactly like Laura's Theme, and that's when Cooper notices it
I'm starting to feel anxious about the lack of Twin Peaks.
>>87213581
>>87213621
So he's still Dale Cooper, just an evil version of him, he has the same intelligence and skills as Cooper had.
explain this scene
>>87212187
I felt for Richard desu
>I'm in the black lodge with Dale Cooper
What did Sarah Palmer mean by this?
>>87213465
>evil coop throws the bob orb and good coop throws the laura orb
>orbs collide with each other, creating a massive explosion knocking them in opposite directions
>bobe: "they're too evenly matched! whatever can we do!"
>offscreen cry of "OI!"
>it's one punch lad charging in with his fist raised
>runs so fast his fist blazes a trail of fire
>punches evil coop's jaw clean off
>"bet THAT struck you as funny m8!"
>starring kyle maclachlan
>>87213664
>most of the show was building toward that
No it wasn't, only Audreyfags think this. Cooper was never going to end up with a high schooler, did you miss the point of their scene in the hotel room completely?
>>87213727
It doesn't, a lot of people have really bad musical ear apparently
>>87213647
Why wasn't this aired in the original final episode?
>>87212200
>>87213266
>>87211079
holy fucking shit
>>87210827
thumbnail looks like someone shooped a pistol into his hands
>>87213749
Yes. He's literally: the BAD Cooper. Cooper, but with evil motives instead of good.
>>87213647
Was this filmed specifically for FWWM or is it cut from the original series? Coops hair looks like it did in the series and not the complete garbage from the movie
>>87213779
I wonder about this too.
>>87210827
>>87213810
>I have better ears than you, you're wrong
Sure, pleb
>>87213779
wait, when did she say that?
>>87213581
The canon answer is that he was hurt deeply by his attempt at humor falling on flat ears, that he gave up that day.
You can actually pinpoint the exact moment his heart breaks
>>87213855
She as channeling BOB. Remember, Sarah has always been psychic/lodge sensitive.
>>87213763
very fast retard running at incredibly hihg speed
>>87213903
End of season 2. She said it to Briggs in the diner

Mr. C's arc is so sad
>chilling with BOB having fun in the lodge
>Cooper get stuck, so he gets to go into the real world
>wants to share his joy with Harry, tries to make a joke
>Harry's a pleb so he doesn't get it
>Mr. C resolves from then on that he'll never joke again
>25 years later, he never smiles unless he's trying to trick someone
>yfw S3 is all Harry's fault
Fire Walk With Me had such god tier use of close-up shots, and the texture of the film make them even better
>>87213968
>>87213608
underrated post
>>87213968
go straight into it my man
>>87213968
It'll be infinitely better if you come at it with experience of the old series, FWWM+Missing Pieces
>>87213997
harry saves the day by making a surprise appearance and apologizing to mr. c. then they all go have pie. mr. c tells a joke, everybody laughs, freeze frame. the end
>>87213968
watch inland empire it sums up the first two series and fire walk with me in a film.
What did he meant by this?
>>87213512
I was thinking the exact same thing today. I like Windom, but you have to expect the ratings drop if you give them no mystery
>>87214113
he meant: CHARGE YIOURE PHONE
>>87213152
french girl not first
>>87212722

very disappointed
Has anyone in here watched the Northwest Passage edit? I thought it was pretty good, especially the way it delayed revealing the killer.
>>87214150
It's charging, dummy
>>87214166
>Unironically watching fanedits.
>>87213998
was creamed corn really laura's favorite food?
>>87213968
I think it's possible to get it.
If you become a fan you can watch the whole experience later, or stop season 3 to watch it all from the beginning.
If you are ocmmitted with starting with season 3, I would suggest watching last ep of season 2 before hand
>>87213968
Yes but wait until the final episode is out then watch it backwards
>>87212187
>>87213770

>>87211440
Look up the Moonlight Trilogy, it's a nice little read that'll satisfy your craving.
I mean, for a cringy fanservicey fanfic, you could honestly get much much worse.
>>87214084
Harry appears
"How are you old pal? Your old joke... it struck me as funny"
(hands over a toot brush and toot paste to evil cooper, we see a glimpse of a tear forming up)
"also, Annie is fine"
Repeat of fwwm finale, with harry holding a smiling and crying evil cooper while he washes himself, all radiant in the mirror, brushing his teeth
>>87211335
Bollocks
Jeffries saw the initial contract between the lodge entities and BOB after he and mike split up - that's why we have the ARM but also the other lodge entities and the creamed corn
BOB is the best at gathering gonzola- presumably the other entities grant him certain powers in return since many of them seem to be able to possess people just like him
who's your favorite actor in this show?
>>87213770

Somehow my normalfag 40 year old trailer trash co-worker is watching it. She asked if I had a cigarette lighter and I said "Got a light?" In a gruff voice and was all good about it and asked if I watch Twin Peaks. I was surprised. I still hate you, Wendy. You're so fucking incompetent and annoying.
>>87214382
No, this was before he killed that kid.
He was bitter about coin man
>>87213958
- most of the Eraserhead-esque horror stuff, totally forgot how good Lynch is at it
- the Roadhouse skits
- Dougie
- Shaggy's website actually being real
- that one face Belushi made, you know the one
- normalfag tears
give me the gorgonzola bob
>>87214383
The way he delivers this line is amazing

>you will never have a tear stricken naomi watts desperately clutch onto your arm hoping youll stay in her life

Dougie should have gotten punched in the face like the retard he is. He reminds me of Homer from that episode with Frank Grimes. He's literally retarded but he has a wife and kid and nice house and all his co-workers at his good job love him.
>>87214787
you have a boring serial killer like infatuation
>>87214382
A real psycho would've run over the kid and just laughed. Richard was at least upset about it.
>>87214565
>>87214784
do you understand the meme, Harry\Richard?

Sheryl Lee is my overall favorite for FWWM alone. Kyle MacLachlan is a close 2nd after having watched The Return.
Barring main actors though, I'll have to give it to Ray Wise.
>>87214431

>>87214873
Two realities are clashing with each other because of the two coopers problem, one of the realities is Audrey's dream. I believe Richard being electrocuted and Audrey waking up is connected.
>>87215011
you know how many people are going to be rewatching the series after it ends? not to mention the sheer amount of discussion that's going to follow the ending.
>>87214923

It's actually good that Kyle limited his involvement in FWWM because it really allowed Ray Wise & Sheryl to shine
