See I disagree. Targcest is one of the few new interesting storylines they can explore. There is a lot of ways they can go with that.

I think the Lannisters are pretty played out as villains. The actors are good, but the writers are clearly bored of them. Jaime is too likable to be threatening and Cercei just doesn't have the menace that Joffery and Tywin had. She's especially suffered not having the Martell's there to act as foils.
