You're probably used to watching the DC. It's the full theatrical release with no added fat and a couple of small fixes. I'm happy that they chose not to include that scene where they shut down Arnie and pull the chip out of his head, it felt out of place and hamfisted.

John Woo's Hard Boiled had the style of Die Hard and American action flicks but upped the body count a few hundred, put more gory squibs on stuntmen and wasn't afraid to show scene after scene of civilians getting blown away in the crossfire.
