>This fucking thread
I am now woke
I come to you in the wake of recent events to issue a call to reason. Let no human deny the perils of our time. While we battle one another, divided by the petty strife of our common history, the tide of a greater conflict is turning against us, threatening to destroy all that we have accomplished. It is time for us as houses, and as individuals to set aside our longstanding feuds and unite.
The tides of an unwinnable war are upon us, and we must seek refuge upon higher ground, lest we be swept away by the flood. The Targaryens are no more. Whatever semblance of unity and protection they once provided is a phantom. A memory. With our enemies left unchecked, who will you turn to for protection?
The devastation wrought by the invaders is self-evident. We have seen our homes and communities destroyed by the calculated blows of the Mance Rayder. We have seen firsthand our friends and loved ones consumed by the nightmarish Others. Unprecedented, and unimaginable though they may be, these are the signs of our times.
The time has come my fellow andals, to rally to a new banner. In unity lies strength. Already many of the dissident factions have joined us.
Out of the many we shall forge an indivisible whole, capitulating ONLY to a single throne. And from that throne…
I shall watch over you.
From this day forward, let no human make war upon any other human. Let no incestuous agency conspire against this new beginning. And let no man consort with dark powers. And to all the enemies of humanity, seek not to bar our way. For we shall win through, NO MATTER THE COST!

You can look to Final Fantasy: Spirits Within which even at the time did not look as good as the Warcraft cinematics.
>Square Pictures rendered the film using some of the most advanced processing capabilities available for film animation at the time. A render farm consisting of 960 workstations was tasked with rendering each of the film's 141,964 frames. It took a staff of 200 about four years to complete The Spirits Within. Square intended to make the character of Aki Ross into the world's first photorealistic computer-animated actress, with plans for appearances in multiple films in different roles.
The Spirits Within debuted to mixed critical reception, but was widely praised for the realism of the computer-animated characters. Due to rising costs, the film greatly exceeded its original budget towards the end of production, reaching a final cost of $137 million, of which it recovered only $85 million at the box office

Bro we're on Argus now. Sunwell was a decade ago.
>>87011874
Because the gating for it was too time consuming for anyone without clinical autism.
Fights now are wildly more complex and difficult now, there just isn't a massive barrier to entry.
>>87011899
It's an example of PVE being harder than PVP, m8.
I haven't given a shit about WoW in about 7 years
>>87011934
But I thought PVE was easy?
Surely it would just be a case of steamrolling PVE dungeons until you get the gear?
too easy tbqh

PVE isn't harder than PVP now though. Most people are clearing end-game content, albeit not at the highest difficulties.
>>87007991
That was just in the book which isn't exactly cannon to the WoW lore.
>>87012175
Looks like clear % on mythic bosses. Retarded to try to use this as an argument, that's like me pulling rank 1 gladiators using that as an argument for pvp being harder.
>>86989948

>>87012079
Eh, legendaries suck, rng sucks, pvp sucks, pve has been decent.
Were definitely some kino moments like when varian got disenchanted though

For the alliance :'(
>>87012257
Well, if that doesn't convince you try to look up videos of the fights. Especially the last few bosses requires a shit ton of coordination and precise movements.
PvP is following a flowchart of "do X when enemy does Y" ad infinitum until someone fails. PvE is like a choreographed dance with 20 people and if someone makes a misstep or forgets something you all die.
>>87012597
If you think pvp doesn't require precise movement and positioning you're shit at pvp and have no idea what you're talking about

>>87012821
People still need to get geared for it, still need to grind more ap etc, comparing numbers doesn't work because it's apples and oranges.
Theres no barriers to entry for pvp besides grinding honor talents and getting concordance which can be done in a day. Hoping for the right rng on gear so you can maximize dps, survivability etc for pve takes a lot longer.
>>87012821
Are those records only of attempts or is it a flat percentage of the playerbase that killed the boss? Because videogame completion rates are in the gutter and it shouldn't surprise anyone that most people never even try to get to a high end raid boss in an MMO.

The story is mostly shit, just a couple of cool moments like the broken shore that got posted a little while ago.
Illidan is fucking retarded.
>>87013115
Haven't played WoW in years, did any major characters get CORRUPTED?
>>87003940
He had some fun snark to him when he went bad.
And you got to know him over a campaign as a good guy first.
It was kind of a bummer in some ways to go through the undead campaign for me when I first played it.
I had loved wc2 for over half a decade and torn my manuals to shreds almost from reading them. When Wc3:RoC came out the news of WoW was already out, which seemed like a dream game for me. I already knew what I wanted to play in World of Warcraft before Wc3 was out, I wanted to play a High Elf and go to Dalaran to learn magic(having no clue how they were actually building the game).
Then I destroy Quel'Thalas and Dalaran in the second campaign.

You're really robbing yourself of the story as well when you do this.
Adversity is part of the story structure.
It's like editing a movie so the heroes never get hurt.
>>87013382

You can still go back and do it legit.
I did do that mistake once when I wanted to brush up on broodwar lore some time before sc2 came out.
In a way the atmosphere gets a bit better when you're worse at the game imo. Now I stomp the March of the Scourge mission on hard so it doesn't feel as desperate as it did the first time I played through it on normal and I was close to losing.
>>87013753
I was thinking about getting remastered and replaying it, but I feel like the conveniences of sc2 have spoiled me and I won't enjoy having 8(?) unit limits on control groups.
I really like getting massive armies together, and that's just a huge pain in the dick in brood war because I am not korean.
>>87013753
>when I wanted to brush up on broodwar lore some time before sc2 came out.
On a scale of 1-10 how much did that campaign disappoint you.
I miss muh queen bitch of the universe ;_;
>>87013952
>I was thinking about getting remastered and replaying it, but I feel like the conveniences of sc2 have spoiled me and I won't enjoy having 8(?) unit limits on control groups.
Are they keeping that for remastered? That's literally the only thing I wanted them not to keep. I haven't followed it at all because I fear disappointment like them redubbing the whole campaign or doing some shitty updated in-game version of the cinematics.

Fuck. I mained zerg. That 12 unit selection limit was fucking painful. I can't go back.

They went full retard and lost the space cowboy atmosphere of the terrans. I didn't play the third expansion though, only saw a couple of vids.
>>87014355
>Yea they're keeping it, everything about the gameplay is the same, just graphical updates/adding matchmaking etc.
Then I'm looking forward to the Warcraft 1/2 remasters that keep the complete lack of any pathfinding AI or even waypoints. Don't want your grunts to walk headlong into a cliff for an hour straight? Fuck you, babysit them.

Fucking A. The best part about WC3 was how while all the villains (Archimonde, Tichondrius, Ner'Zhul, Mannoroth) hated and distrusted eachother and tried to win by playing 5D chess (which the Lich King eventually won), the good guys just banded together to fight some evil and trusted eachother.
It was also smart to dedicate the entire first half of the campaign to build up the bad guys so they actually felt effective, and just spending one getting kicked around with Thrall and then finally fighting back with the Night Elves, felt actually rewarding.

12 I think. Don't try playing wc2 without battlechest then. Original wc2 didn't have hotkey control groups, and you could only select 9 at a time.
>>87014228
6.5 I guess. Did not like the story. Some fine side stuff, but main story just seemed lame.
I didn't get the other starcraft 2 parts.
Watched some brief videos of the hots campaign. Didn't bother with even looking into the lots campaign.
Mechanically WoL seemed interesting at least with the rpg elements with credits and protoss/zerg techs, and addons.
But even though I played on brutal I didn't get any of them until the final mission because the difficulty wasn't at all scaled with that in mind.
mfw they make a trilogy of frozen throne/wotlk movies
