I liked it.
Japs had no plate armour
I only watched half of it and it was great.
Really disappointed I missed the Gashadokuro, the construction montage at the end was amazing.

>tfw monkey mom
No it was Kubo.
I don't really like how much cgi they incorporated into the movie. I know it's stupid, but I feel like it's cheating.
Couple that with how since Paranorman, faces have been modeled and animated on a computer and then 3d printed, and it's getting harder and harder to call Laika's movies stop motion animation.
I appreciate how hard, tedious and expensive it is to make stop motion, but that's why I think it's so impressive.

No, it's shit

I appreciate any modern animated movie that has the balls to kill off important characters and keep them dead. Disney doesn't do that shit anymore.

VFX is not CGI
They would use opticals and rear projection in stop motion long before they used digital tools to achieve the same effects. They still animate by hand and shoot each individual frames, they just combine visuals elements to make the animating less complicated (but even then it requires a lot of rigid coordination so that the plates match up frame by frame to form one image)
