Is it good?
>>86870890
It reminds me of my childhood and for that reason I'll always like it.
It's the best Hollywood attempt at Godzilla.
>>86870950
The 2014 version was pretty kino.
>>86870890
The best Godzilla ever made.
>>86871041
The original was better.
>>86870942
Same. I watched that fucking VHS like 3 times a day back in the day.
>>86870890
It is, in its own way. I never understood why did people gave it so much shit. In comparison with Pacific Rim or standard capeshit it is a Godfather of scifi movies.
It was okay, just had some really terrible casting decisions and not sure why almost the entire voice cast of the Simpsons was in it
Not really, but this >>86870950 holds true.
>>86870890
its good because im biased.
>>86871109
>I never understood why did people gave it so much shit.
One of the biggest reasons is because they made Godzilla killable, he is supposed to be an indestructable force of nature.
>>86871137
Fuck you.
>>86871270
It looked pretty indestructible for most of the movie.
>>86870890
I'm still waiting for the fucking sequel. An egg survive.
GIVE ME GODZILLA
>>86871270
This. When it comes to monsters, Hollywood is often way too pedantic about grounding/making it realistic. A living force of nature doesn't make sense for them. It looks like an animal, so it must be like one and must be able to die.
>>86871450
Yet it was killed by fucking missiles.
I loved it as a kid
Godzilla 1998 is an absolutely EXCELLENT re-imagining of the original Japanese concept.
1. Properly references Godzilla as a product/allegory of nuclear weapons
2. Design is actually really cool and makes much more sense then thiqq-zilla
3. Lots of shots properly convey the size of the creature by keeping most of him out of frame. Only at the end do we see Godzilla in his entirety on the bridge. The 2014 version just never shows him until they do a full shot from a distance. Plus the scale is just stupid - 5 battleships on his back is retarded.
4. Sneering at the characters and tone of this movie is retarded. We don't need a serious, grimdark movie about a giant lizard. It's fun, with a little bit of heart and a lot of decent CGI for the time.
>>86872061
>Godzilla 1998
that movie was pure garbage
Shin Godzilla was way waaaaay better.
>>86870942
I remember thinking the Godzilla toy from this was cool, so ill always like the design
Why does this make more sense as a remake of The Beast of 20.000 Fathoms?
I love this movie and yes I am biased saw it when I was a kid. I love the shot where matthew broderick is taking to the other guy and he asks for evidence or something and the other guy says you're standing in it. Then it goes to an aerial helicopter shot to show that he is standing in a giant foot print.
>>86872223
I had this toy when I was a kid it was so fucking cool. They sell for hundreds of dollars online now btw.
>>86872145
No shit retard, Shin is a japanese goji movie
i don't think it's very good but i have fond memories of it. went to see it with my dad and my best friend on the last day of school and then he stayed over the entire weekend while we watched more movies and played video games.
>>86872628
This, same here. I still remember the helicopters coming from above, It felt so real
I don't think it's as bad as people make it out, BUT I do have some nostalgia about it.
I remember the Puff Daddy w/ Jimmy Paige music video that kind of hyped it up for me.
But, I haven't rewatched it since I saw it in theaters so I can't really say if I really find it good/bad.
>>86870890
Why is the tagline a reference to male penis size?
This toy was the shit I don't give a fuck what you faggots say.
>>86870890
No, but it's goofy and kinda fun.
>>86870890
It's far better than the absolute trash that was 2014 Godzilla.
>>86870890
A nostalgic movie for kids of the mid 90s, I remember getting a KFC toy that was a zilla, a skyscraper mould and some grey playdoh, you made building and had Zilla stomp the fuck outta them.
The cartoon series that was spawned from the movie is really good IMHO, the monster designs are pretty cool and several of them seem to have inspired the skullcrawlers from Skull Island.
>>86870890
I'm going deeper underground There's too much panic in this Town
I liked it when I was younger, havent watched it since
the rainy new york setting was comfy af from all the way down here in hot as fuck australia, and the madison square garden sequence was pretty terrifying as a kid. Solid movie.
>>86870890
No, it's complete trash but people (including myself) watched it when they were children and have attachments to it like >>86870942.
Even as a kid I was disappointed as hell when Godzilla went down from 12 missiles. The latest America attempt was much better.
>>86872840
It's the earliest known case of furry pandering.
>>86873191
Pleb
It was so bad that theater owners complained about the film and took it out early.
>>86873803
>Source: My anus
>>86870890
No. It's predictable, CGI garbage that turns the baddest motherfucking monster in cinema history into a simpering little bitch that can't even take five salvos of jet fighter missiles.
Matthew Broderick should have died in that car crash.
>>86870890
"Good" might be a bit of a stretch. It's a piece of shit movie but I'll still watch it every time its on.
>>86872497
>>86872948
so fucking cool, the closet I had to this was a Trex from JP which was pretty cool in its own way. But that design is top
>>86873045
>I remember getting a KFC toy that was a zilla, a skyscraper mould and some grey playdoh, you made building and had Zilla stomp the fuck outta them.
What's it called?
>be retarded 6 yo kid
>watch burgerzilla
>ask parents for zilla toy
>they buy me some old goji
>be a pleb and consider it old shit that looked fat
Thanks god I matured
>>86870890
I still like it.
>>86872145
>Shin Godzilla
hell yes, i fucking love that movie.
