fun fact, that's actually CGI. The original version looked like this. It was actually one of the most difficult shots they ever had, especially considering the lack of budget in season 1. Nikolaj talked about it on the DVD commentary.

"Ah there it is. That's the scene with the most amount of backstory that people don't know about. This was actually shot in front of a green screen, for one so they could change scales later in CGI and also so it was easier for the camera guys to keep Kit Harrington in focus. Probably the biggest issue that comes when we had to shoot with Kit was that the camera guys sometimes kind of forgot where Kit actually was. Like they started filming a random wall because they assumed Kit was probably standing there even though he was like 5 feet to the left. And when I shook his hand...by the way that's CGI as well. The first time we tried to do it my hand almost went around his entire arm and it looked like I was trying to pull a branch of a tree.So after we've set up the scene we realized that they had absolutely no reference for where our eyes should meet. So eventually we came to the conclusion that it might be better for me to kneel but it didn't really work out because I had to literally lie on the ground to get to Kit's eye level. So yeah, they didn't decide to CGI my entire body so it would look like I was standing instead of lying flat on my back on the ground. That day Dan's daughter was on set, she's like 9 years old and super energetic. So we told her that she should just lift up Kit above her head and she'd be credited as an actress for the show. She agreed and eventually we managed with me kneeling and Kit getting propped up by her that the scene could be done.

I havent played in ages, but one big piece of advice : keep your vassals happy in peace, allies happy in war. See what they want from you or how they want you to be (by hovering over opinion modifiers), and proportional to their size, give them that for better taxes and levies.

It's all a profit-cost equation, so make sure you profit.

The names are easy because it's a book and the names and titles literally tell you who each person is. I know it's hard to remember someone's name on a tv show but in text you always know who 'Lord Bracken' is because he's Lord Bracken, he's a lord over some place and his family name is Bracken. The names are purely informative, you can never forget who the people in the scene are because they're constantly being named when relevant.
