Not really a horror film, more a quirky 90s style highschool flick from the 00's.

It's worth a watch. Super comfy and tight waifu game.

If we only included among the list of horror films those which actually made us feel something resembling horror, 99% of the genre wouldn't count. I think horror films are defined by their attempt to be horror films, rather than how successfully they achieve this.

It's basically the feminist aspects of Ginger Snaps but without any of the nuance. Woman gets raped, gets revenge on the rapist, all men are pigs, etc. Been a while since I watched it, though, so I might just be remembering it a certain way. It's always recommended to people who enjoyed Ginger Snaps, but I personally don't think there's much common ground other than the superficiality of Kat playing a Ginger-esque character. I was wondering if anyone else felt the same way.

It's way more complex than that. Surgical body horror. An interesting take on seedy underbellies. There is a lot to like in American Mary. Totally not something I would compare to GS though.
