Why is this movie considered good, my fellow fa/tv/irgins?

It was a tongue in cheek nod to over the top Action movies of the 1980s while having a bigger budget than the Evil Dead series. It was hugely popular on VHS when people went out of their way to get movies they had not seen in the movie theaters.
I saw it at the insistence of my friend. It is eminently quotable, the pacing is great, lots of fun lines, and definitely doesn't take itself too seriously. Just a very very good "fun" movie.

Have you seen ash vs evil dead?
I think I was 9 or 10 the first time I saw this so at the time I loved it because it was gory and had really dumb humor in it. Also Ash is one of the greatest characters ever. I haven't watched it in years so I don't know how I feel about it now though.

Why isn't it so hot now?

Probably the last movie to use practical effects like stop motion, animatronics, rear projections, miniatures, and camera tricks all in one.
Also it's a great movie over all. With a lovable moron as the main character, it's playful yet dark humor, and cheese yet great one liners.

Op here, watching it for the first time in a while and it really holds up. Old old looking Special effect was the mini ash plugging big ash's nose.

Badass hero
Muh Bruce Campbell
Fun practical effects
Typical 80/90's humor
Sure some stuff looks cheap nowadays like the scenes filmed in a quarry, but it adds to the charm of the movie.
All in all it's my favourite out of the 3 Evil Dead.
