Watched it recently. I enjoyed it but your description is apt.

Making a film the last 1/3 of a story was a bad idea imo! He should have done the full plot as a film or book not split!

very naive anon

not a disaster at all, pleb

explain your movie to me Richard
I think it would have been better if you didn't cop out with apocalypse porn again
>>

>whole movie is about the end of the world
>cop out

most of the individual plot lines are incidental to the apocalypse though. he's writing the set up of a satire and then instead of saying anything with it he ends the world on some fantastical time travel prophecy.

why waste your time introducing corrupt cops, corrupt politicians, corrupt energy companies, neomarxist terrorists, and megacoorporations if all you're going to do is toss them in the same black hole that donnie darko's suburbs went into?

Because the whole movie is about the collapse of society and increasing unrest at the end of the world? Do you ask why Meloncholia introduced infidelity, abuse and depression into a story where everyone dies?

Anyone without ADHD can follow this flick, anon.

strangely entertaining and boring at the same time

that's emotional metaphor not social satire.
