The first half of the show is perfectly decent. Light is a good antagonist because he's relatively realistic. He only pretends for a short time to be morally right before he just goes off murdering people and his games with L were interesting enough.

It only becomes shit when Near shows up.

They based this "movie" on the latest j-drama (the 2015 one).
In that one, Light is a pussy beta faggot who gets bullied and is scared shitless by the Death Note, and L wears hoodies all the time.
