>There will never be movies this cool again

Why?
>>
That movie was pretty awesome. I watched it when I was really young so I'm scared to watch it now incase it ruins the feeling
>>
CUT MY LIFE INTO PIECES
>>
>>64550355

Same here, don't rewatch it.
I would hate to remember there was a nig in it and enjoy the memory less.
>>
>>64550328

Capeshit ruined mainstream culture, that's why.
>>
the ultimate fuck you i liked it flick

Jet Li literally squashes a dude to death between two motorbikes, anon. How could it go wrong?
>>
Who was the redhead who helped yulaw escape?
>>
>tfw they say "there can only be one" so as not to get sued if they say "there can be only one"
>>
>that scene where Delroy Lindo is supposed to hold his own in a fight with a superpowered Jet Li
Fun film, though.
>>
That ending where he's just beating the shit out of criminals on top of a pyramid for some reason for the rest of his life. Based
>>
Kiss of the Dragon > The One > Romeo Must Die

(I never saw the other American Jet Li films)

Not even numetal could ruin that ending, somehow.

it's not american, but you should really watch once upon a time in china.

LET

Although not American, you should watch Fearless. It's one of his best.
>>
At least there still some ok Tony Jaa and Donnie Yen movies.
>>
>>64550852
Oh yeah, goes without saying that the Chinese films are much much better. Once Upon A Time, Fist of Legend, Bodyguard from Beijing, Tai-chi Master, Hero... good times.

In no particular order:
Hero
Fearless
Unleashed
Kiss of the Dragon
The One
The Warlords
Romeo Must Die
Once Upon a Time in China
Fist of Legend

Except for The Warlords, all are classic action films.

"capeshit" is esentially a science fiction idea centered on superhuman powers with lots of fighting

Yeah, I love it when he plays the villain.

one of jet li's finest

I like him far more than jackie chen
>>
>>64551050
Needs moar Tai-chi Master. Also Evil Cult if you want to see Jet Li flying through the air shooting lasers with the power of kung-fu, which you definitely do.
>>
>>64550792
Danny the Dog was goat.
>>
>>64551057
You forgot capeshit panders to the Reddit and Tumblr crowd with odd interactions and "lol so randumb xDDD" and "le epic may-mays" humor, whereas films like 'The One' were just action/sci-fi films without any of the pandering to a millennial audience.
>>
>>64550552
just you wait for Iron Fist
>>
>>64551308
you're talking about one direction taken by one company. not all capeshit is the MCU. shit even in the MCU, Daredevil was basically a crime drama with martial arts and ninjas
>>
>>64550793
>Yulaw finally tracks down Sven
>Finds him masturbating in a corner whilst his wife is being humped by a Muslim
>JUST CUT MY LIFE INTO PIECES
>>
Yeah he was great. only newer guy that can match him is Iko Uwais
>>
>>64551308
They pandered to the audience at the time. the matrix audience.

Also, with the rise of the internet in popularity it became easier to pin-point specific markets and what they want. This has always been going on, films only get made if people think other people will pay to see it. Except back in the day the market research was cruder and restricted to test audiences and whatnot.

Just be mad at people for liking may-mays and quips, because capeshit is only responding to the market in an intelligent and admirable way.

It doesn't help that modern blockbusters like capeshit are basically all solid movies. You can be mad if marvel made bad superhero films, but they don't.
>>
>>64551362
Daredevil was pre Ironman. Post Ironman, all capeshit is the same. Le witty one-liners are even spreading outside of capeshit, there was one five minutes into the new Star Wars film that felt like it was straight outta Marvel.
>>
>Netflix is releasing a Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon sequel next month

Not Jet Li, but intredasting. I hadn't noticed. Hope the trailer music isn't actually from the show.

The Raid 2

you're welcome op
>>
>>64551441
yeah, what 80s/90s action hero every did witty one liners? preposterous!
>>
>>64551453

wow who chose this fucking song cover for the trailer, fucking fire them.
>>
>>64551500
I thought you meant the weird movie
>>64551542
I'd say there's a difference between impaling someone with a pipe and telling them to let off some steam and then just making quirky/witty comments constantly in place of actual dialogue.
>>
>>64551432
Fuck off back to Plebbit, shill.
>>
>>64551610
but no one watched those movies for the dialogue, they watch commando for the action and cheesy one-liners. what i'm saying is, people like you seem to hate on "capeshit" because you dislike a portion of it's fandom. yes, reddit and tumblr indeed love those movies, because MOST people love those movies and redditors are a part of humanity. you think redditors don't like demolition man or con air or die hard? capeshit is actually very versatible, it can be anything from horror to sci-fi to drama to comedy.
>>
>>64551542
The difference was that those one-liners in 80s/90s films tended to be cheesy, even for back then, and were very general humor.

Nowadays, almost the entire dialogue of hero films is someone speaking in a faux British accent while uttering "quirky" memes that makes Tumblrinas and Redditors squeal with delight and say "LOLOL DID U GET THE REFERENCE? I DID BECAUSE I'M A L33T HAX4 WHO'S 'IN' MEME CULTURE XD"

It's just plain cancer.
At least the cheesiness is an actual legitimate attempt at trying to be funny, unlike... well, straight up and un-subtle pandering.
>>
Daily reminder that Yulaw is nobodys bitch
>>
>>64551539
redemption?
>>
>>64551432
>They pandered to the audience at the time. the matrix audience.

Obviously... which makes it much better than capeshit.

It's cheesy in a cool way, not smug ass shitty reddit humor.
>>
>>64551890
if you look at eighties and nineties action movies, superhero movies have more in common with them than modern action movies who are all serious and thrillery(Bourne, Jack Reacher, even some of the new Bonds). action movies today take themselves seriously, while superhero movies have more of the old action movie spirit

>>64551432
Regular people hardly care about capeshit. They watch it at movie theaters because it's the only thing there is to do, but then afterwards. forget about and never really bring it up unless asked what movies they've watched.

Tumblrinas, on the other hand, will obsess over shipping characters together and 'quirky awkward guys in it x)))" and Redditors will obsess about how "gritty and epic it was"
